Intel Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter Software

I bought Waves NX Head Tracker to use it with Logic Pro X in a Mac Pro Mid 2010 OS El Capitan and Bluetooth 2.1 I needed Bluetooth 4.0, so I bought this StarTech adapter. Plugged into my computer, but it was not recognized as BT 4.0. Then I downloaded Hardware_IO_Tools_for_Xcode_7.3.dmg, and installed Bluetooth Explorer in the Applications folder. Opened it, Tools menu and choose HCI Controller Selector, I clicked at the arrows and selected Broadcom Corp and clicked Activate. Done My computer recognized the StarTech adapter as Bluetooth 4, and I was able to use my excellent Waves NX Head Tracker.

Works great…use it as a replacement for my current onboard intel wireless adapter…highly recommend!

I have never had problems with my bluetooth, I got full blue tooth connection throughout my house even with my little Soundpeats q30 plus. This wifi adapter is faster than our ethernet, which makes 0 sense but even with a cat 5 cable, I get around 200mbps while I get around 130 with the ethernet. It really is hassle-less. So if you have a spare PCI-E slot, this is a really good budget wifi adapter. (Also you don't need an optical drive for the software disc, just go to the website on the disk or look up the software for the adapter and port it onto your pc with a USB. Though, my computer didn't even need the software)

Use MS drivers not those provided and this will be a great bluetooth adapter. The software provided is fraught with many problems. Do not load their software. It won't work properly and be limited in speed. Their tech support does not help any either if you have software difficulties. Use their SW at your own risk.

With one word of caution. AT THIS WRITING AMD processors support the new PCIE 4.0 standard that this drive operates on. Intel processors are not scheduled to be released that support this new protocol until 2021. I paired this drive up with a non PCIE 4.0 Intel chipset (based on the product's advertisement that it is backwards compatible). I can say truthfully it is not backwards compatible. When I employed this drive I received error, after error, after error from Windows 10, notwithstanding that Samsung has not yet even released a Windows driver for this drive. It used the Windows 10 default 2006 Microsoft driver to operate with. Once I took it out of that system and put in a PCIE 3.0 drive that the system supported, all errors disappeared. Intel processor users will just have to wait until later this years when Intel chipsets supporting this new protocol are are mainstream.

I ended up upgrading from a AMD 3600x running on a B450 motherboard. While the AMD wasn't a slouch I wanted a little more future proofing and something that last 3-4 year's running DDR4. I thought about upgrading to a B550 and 5xxx processor but with the USB troubles AMD has had off and on. There attitude of being a small company when it comes to there drivers. I decided there was more value this generation in intel. Overall I am extremely pleased and the computer in General seems more snappy and responsive. I am sure part of that is the upgrade from PCI-Express 3.0 to 4.0 as most my components run the 4.0 standard. I don't think you can really go wrong with the intel processor this Generation. They might use a bit more power but unless your running the computer 24-7 under high work loads I don't see power consumption being a issue.

I had to purchase a bluetooth adapter to make it work. I'd like some instructions on working the wireless control ! The sound is very good.

Was gifted a Poly wireless headset. But needed the Bluetooth adapter for it to work with my work computer. I had to disable the computer Bluetooth but after that this little adapter can reach around my whole house. I have even answered calls from my kitchen while cooking lunch. I can't say enough positive things about the Hello Wireless ShutterBoss 4.0. The wireless signal is strong even in my studio with a ton of potential wireless interference. The LCD display is large and very easy to read. The backlight (although green) makes it easy to read the display in near dark conditions. I love the ease of use however I do which that in order to trigger a long exposure on my Canon EOS-R I didn't have to change my camera from Manual to Bulb. However this is not a major problem at all. I was able to get it out of the box and fully understood in less than 5 minutes. [I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion].

Mini USB Bluetooth® 4.0 Adapter is a fantastic product! Better working range than other Bluetooth receivers/transmitters. Works great with Sony MDR-10R after checking ALL of the configuration for USBBT1EDR4. You MUST install ONLY the last version of the CSR Harmony software; if you have an older version installed, you MUST uninstall the older version first. The new version unfortunately does not include drivers for all of the older transmitters and you can't have more than one version installed at the same time. I highly recommend this product.
