Iphone 15 Camera Setting For Northern Lights

Photographing the Northern Lights is the main reason I got this phone tripod holder. My iPhone 's night mode makes this easier. But holding the phone is tough in sub zero temps. You have to use your bare hands to get the photo. This holder is small and easy.

I photograph the Northern Lights using a gimbal mount on a tripod. This means the camera is always in the horizontal position and that's very limiting. This rotating mount works perfectly. It's sturdy. All my Canon lenses fit. I can change rotation fast to compose images of rapidly-changing Northern Lights. I love it. Which I had it 10 years ago.

After a near fiasco on a beach at 3:00 AM in Norway, shooting the Northern Lights on the only night of the trip that they appeared, I will NEVER use a third Party camera battery again. I only use the camera manufacturer's batteries. Trust me on this one! And Sony makes the best!

I bought the lens to use on a trip to Patagonia and for Northern Lights next fall.  When I first put it on my camera I didnt think the focus was working.  But it does and so quiet, great feel, a bit heavy but it operates so nicely.  My first Sigma lens and I am glad I picked this instead of the 14-24mm Nikon lens.

Unboxed it while out for the Northern Lights show that hit the US , put it on the camera (7D MkII) and it worked perfectly.. Had tripod set up, outside, and sat inside my car, randomly taking photos, Walked a good distance from it, with the antenna up, and still had no issues reaching the receiver. Great little unit, and will come in handy in the future, love being wireless!

Great lens! I use this lens for portraits, and taking pictures of the Northern Lights, and other low light situations.

Great film for shots where you don't want the grain. Used this in a wilderness setting in northern MN. The fine grain and contrast gave me some of the best birch tree shots I have taken. Highly recommend

The lens performed very well in cold weather (10-15 degrees F). I took 30 pictures of the Northern Lights in Tromso, Norway and they came out as well as I could have hoped, with 10 second exposure. The lens (with a Hoya 55mm NXT plus UV filter) did not fog and remained quite tight. The background is sharp, no flare.
