You will want this. I've used cheap adapters in the past had nothing but problems with them. This dock station is the way to go

I use this to switch between my ipod dock and my xbox using my logitech z-2300 speakers and it works flawlessly, there is no sound quality loss nor interference.

My wife and I purchased the Play5 and the Play1 because our iPod docking station wasn't cutting it and we wanted to be able to play music from SiriusXM in the house. This has allowed us to do those things, use our iPod (through the aux jack) and listen to local radio. The control of these is very simple and intuitive and they sound great. It is very small and has all the ports you would need in a basic setup. There is not a ton of USB ports or additional features but everything works as it should

I bought this because I own an Asus Chromebook CX5601 and I wanted a way to dock it and use it with a double monitor setup. This docking station has enabled me to do this seamlessly. This has enabled me to connect my Chromebook with two 4K monitors, a USB keyboard and mouse, and a webcam, and all of it works quickly and flawlessly. Excellent docking station.
