Iron Wolf Hard Drive

The enclosure worked great with my three and a half inch Iron Wolf Drive allowing me to initialize my drive externally. 5 |

The standard and pro iron wolf drives are solid reliable choice for nas units. There has been some drama about SMR drive being labeled for nas with out clearly being labeled as SMR drive. nas devices typically doesn't work with Shingled magnetic recording (SMR) drives - I would recomend researching this before purchasing drives for your nas. 5 |

The new Iron Wolf is my new go to. Even the 5400 RPM is fine for backups and I can trust these drives! 5 |

2 drives were added for the NAS capacity increase, from 2 x 4TB Iron wolf. First pair keeps running very smoothly and trustful with zero trouble for over 1 year, therefore I had no hesitation to add another pair. Highly recommended. 5 |

I am using these Iron Wolf Pro HDDs in a Qnap NAS. No problems. No worries. Just great speed and reliability. Highly recommended. 5 |

I used this to replace one of my aging WD Green disks, along with a 1TB Seagate Iron Wolf. Out of the two Seagate disks, this one's my clear favourite due to operating noise. This one makes essentially "regular" soft ticking sounds when seeking - the Iron Wolf, by contrast, makes some rather annoying clicking sounds. In terms of performance they seem pretty close though. 5 |

I am running this NAS with two 6tb iron wolf drives in a Raid 1 config. So far so got. It was easy to set up. The things I had to learn were the different ways of creating backup schedules, mapping network drives, using some of the apps and how to use the Cloud access via the internet, but that would be similar with any other NAS. The NAS looks good, performs well, currently only serving the role of remote storage but I do have it connected to a keyboard and monitor so that I can play around with its HDMi capabilities. I have tied a few of the Asustor mobile apps to access the Nas remotely. So far so good. I like it but I don't have any previous NAS experience with other products. I pick this device to have future proof hardware (i.e. 4 bays for expansion, Celeron quad core and ram upgradeability as well as 2x 2.5gbe ethernet ports 5 |
