Is A Ryzen 5 5600X Good For Gaming

I bought this in a bundle with the Ryzen 5 5600X, and so far so good. No issues at the time of writing this review 5 |

Depending on your use case, the Ryzen 5800x may not be necessary. Games will run perfectly well on a 5600x. I bought my 5800x just for peace of mind as this is the last generation of the AM4 chip. Depending the price difference between a 5600x and 5800x, a 5800x may be justifiable if it's $50 between the two. Make sure you have a cooler as this doesn't have one. Would recommend for sure! 5 |

After patiently waiting 6 months for the email from B&H that another batch of Ryzen 5 5600X processors had arrived, I immediately purchased the following components for a mini ITX build: Ryzen 5 5600X cpu Gigabyte B550I motherboard Patriot Viper 2x16GB DDR4 3200 MHz ram WD SN850 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 SSD Noctua NH-L9x65 low-profile cpu cooler Resulted in a SPECTACULAR performance upgrade to the FX-6300 hard disk drive computer that has been my workhorse for the last 8 years. Click the mouse, and Boop, almost immediate file load. Power on completes within 5-10 seconds. Because of the video card supply shortage, had to use an old Asus GT630 card, although the rest of the system compensates to still make for quick graphic design. The only issue was installing Debian Linux. Debian 10 Buster does not have a native driver for the Realtek 2.5 GbE LAN chip. After a few hours of trying to manually load the RealTek RTL8125 driver with no success, I tried the testing Debian 11 Bullseye release, which successfully completed the installation with the r8169 driver. A hearty 5 Star recommendation for the Gigabyte B550I, especially since it does not have a chipset cooling fan that can add noise. The SilverStone SG05BB-LITE case I use has plenty of vent area and temperature has not been a problem. 5 |

I am coming from the Ryzen 5 3600, which was great for a year or two. But after upgrading to this 5600x, I am getting better FPS in games like Deep Rock Galactic and even Dead by Daylight. Also getting faster render times via Handbrake. Great CPU. Running this processor with a Hyper 212 Black cooler, no problem. 5 |

I happened to check B&H when they had more of these in stock again! I'd planned to get a Ryzen 7 5800X. But seriously, after reading a lot of tech reviews on the two, I found most people and reviewers happy with the Rizen 5 5600X. It's at a good price, and the performance is not vastly different from the 5800X. I ended up saving around $140 going with the R5 5600X. Installed it after updating the old BIOS on my MSI Tomahawk 570X and it ran perfectly, and I enjoy seeing the lower temperatures inside the case! 5 |

For my first PC build i think i got one of the most versatile motherboards out there. Combined wth a ryzen 5 5600x, and other performance peripherals i have a powerhouse. Im not a millionaire but i had to research all the pieces in my build. Im eventually going to upgrade when hardware prices drop but its definitely going to be made by ASUS. 5 |

Went from a phenom ii x4 945 to this board with a ryzen 5 5600x, and I gotta say, best decision I made since upgrading my video card and windows 10 pro to windows 11 pro. 5 |

Love this board! Using it with a Ryzen 5 5600x. When updating bios just remember not to look for the bios with “Beta” but the one recent to it. You’ll know that bios is installing when the lights on the board lights up. No problems so far. Bios is abit confusing and new for me. 5 |

When I upgraded from my Ryzen 5 3600 to the Ryzen 5 5600x I did not expect the difference to be much but boy was I wrong! It feels so much faster, and I have also noticed FPS increases in many games such as Borderlands 3, Phasmaphobia, and PUBG. 5 |

I wanted the high core count for gaming and streaming in a mainstream socket and had already a bad experience with a Ryzen 9 3900x that died from a month of usage so, to avoid that, I decided to switch to Intel. I also don't care about achieving the highest clock speed so the non overclockable version was fine for me. So far so good, hardware monitor reports idle at 4.6Ghz and turbo up to 4.9Ghz on 4 cores while running warzone at 144fps and streaming on obs at slow preset and resolution 1600x900. Sometimes I get 2 cores at 5Ghz. It gets up to 80C with a 240 radiator cooling it. But thats not as hot as my ryzen used to get. Overall is a good processor. At the time of purchase it was at the same price as a new Ryzen 9 3900x. Is it better than AMD counterpart? For productivity task, no. The lesser core count makes it worse performing (although not bad) at that. For gaming? yes. The higher clock speed will get you higher fps. 5 |
