Amazing core i5!!! Good processor at a good price

Replaced older I5 processor. Cannot believe how much it has reduced time to work on photos.

This processor is a great upgrade from my older intel i5 6600k. It's about on par with the Ryzen 5800x 3D in gaming performance and beats it in productivity. I got this for 230 dollars during Black Friday weekend and am very satisfied with the purchase.

It was kind of a struggle getting my hand on this item. Compared to my old pc with an i5 processor from 2013. This was significantly superior. Everything is now running with ease. A little hiccup here and now but overall amazing.

I wanted to buy a Mac Mini, but my budget was limited. I finally decided on a model with a 6-core i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD. The unit was on sale at B&H for $999, a saving of $100. The SSD size is fine--I can expand storage with the use of external SSDs, which are becoming increasingly affordable. I wanted more RAM, but that gets expensive at Apple's prices. Then, on checkout, B&H offered me 32 GB of RAM (to replace the existing 8 GB) for $128. That looked appealing, but, klutz that I am, I was unwilling to open up my new computer and try to install the RAM myself. Then I saw that B&H would install the RAM for me for $40. And, since their techs are Apple-certified, the installation would not void my Apple warranty. I went for it. Bottom line: I got a Mac Mini with a 6-core i5 processor, 32 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD for $1167. A Mac Mini identically preconfigured by Apple would have cost me $1699. I saved $532 (31 percent).

After years of enduring a 10 year old i5-750 processor, it was time to upgrade. I was initially pricing out an Intel processor and liquid cooler. For the same price. I ended up going with a 40% more powerful AMD processor, which comes with a decent cooler! The cooler is pretty quiet at idle/light workloads. At higher loads, it's a bit noisy. If you are a silent PC enthusiast, I'd suggest upgrading your cooler to a BeQuiet or Noctua CPU cooler. Even on the stock cooler the processor works quite well. Idles at 36-38ºC and full load it goes up to 75º with PBO off and 85º with PBO on. Benches at ~4800 on Cinebench R20. I expect to see a slight improvement once my 3200MHz RAM upgrade arrives! (currently on single channel 2400MHz) I decided to go with the ASUS Strix X470-F Gaming Motherboard, it is more than enough to handle this processor.

I was concerned about getting an i5 processor. But this HP ENVY Desktop TE01-1165t PC is a monster. It boots up faster than my i7 Envy Laptop. It has everything I wanted and I'm very happy with my purchase.

I used to have an Intel i5 8400 and I was able to make the switch to this very powerful processor without making any changes to my system besides processor and motherboard. I would highly recommend this over any Intel processor as the value is fantastic considering how well this performs.

Fantastic processor. Great upgrade from my aging i5. Superb shopping and shipping experience. Using it for 1440p gaming, programming and 3D modeling.

I bought this recently for my wife who was cursing her old (i5 processor) Mac Air every time she tried to work in Lightroom. Got this one, set it up and downloaded her card out the camera. I actually burst out laughing because a download that would take 20-30 minutes on her old Air was literally done in 20-30 SECONDS! Now I’m starting to believe I probably need to upgrade my M1 MacBook Pro to a latest model M3! And of course I will order from B&H again, with their exemplary service!
