Is Intel A Good Gaming Laptop

Great for gaming, good for productivity, sips the power. Glad i made the switch from Intel. And of course the B&H customer support is quick, reliable, friendly, and puts their customers needs first! Can’t say that about many companies these days. 5 |

It was hard to get a direct answer about how to get a 4th monitor to work on an intel based laptop. The problem is that the Intel CPU only allows 3 displays, even if you have a dedicated GPU in the laptop because the GPU isn't a full gpu, but just an extra chip that runs through the Intel CPU. Since it runs through the intel CPU, it is limited by the same 3 display output as the CPU. This allows you to run more than 3 displays on a single laptop. 5 |

NOTE: I am receiving a warranty extension from ASUS for my feedback. I needed a replacement everyday laptop for work / personal use. I looked around quite a bit at various manufactures, specs, sizes, and colors......this one won out. I really wanted a 14in'ish laptop for the size and weight, but I this one was acceptable at the slightly larger 15.6in screen size but still a good overall size and weight. I also REALLY like the orange highlights on the ESC key and the bumper on the bottom. PROs: Great value for the specs; i9 processor, 1TB hardrive, 16gb ram, Intel Iris AND Intel ARC graphics (assignable in Windows settings to specific apps), nice backlit keyboard with auto shutoff when not in use, full number pad, fingerprint reader on power button that works well, physical camera cover, great trackpad, and good typing experience. CONs: 1920x1080p screen resolution, wish it had at least 16:10 or 2K resolution. Memory can't be upgraded, it is soldered onto the motherboard with no spare slots. BUT, I knew both these things before I bought it, so not truly CONs, just items to be aware of. One item that has been odd is USB-C charging. This laptop comes with a DC pin power supply and does technically work with USB-C charging through the TB4 port. However, I have multiple USB-C power supplies that work with my Lenovo laptops and none of them work with this laptop. It has a 19V at 4.74A power input, which none of the (reputable) power supplies I have can provide. Just an odd quirk that I was not expecting, so for now I use the DC pin power supply. Overall, I would recommend this laptop to friends and family, especially when you can get it on sale at B&H like I did. 5 |

This Gaming Laptop is a solid choice for those who appreciate a machine that balances performance with practicality. It's equipped with Intel i7 ensuring that it can handle the demands of the latest games and multitasking with ease. The 4050 GPU delivers crisp, clear graphics, making every gaming session a visual treat. The Onyx Gray finish gives it a mature, sophisticated look, while the 15-inch display offers a generous view of your digital endeavors. It's a bit on the heavier side, but that's a small price to pay for a laptop that's as reliable as it is powerful. Whether you're gaming, working, or both, this laptop is a dependable partner for the long haul. 5 |

It's a good little SSD, just an extra terabyte of storage for gaming on my laptop. Good speed, and I don't really have to worry about the thermal-issues that can arise from putting a 4.0/5.0 NVME in an enclosed laptop chassis. (The differences between 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 SSDs are negligible when it comes to everything besides transfer of large files) 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use my monitor for gaming. Paired with my Intel I9 1300kf and my Nvidia 4090fe. All I can say is the monitor rocks, the color and depth along with the saturation and refresh rate. I've used a lot of monitors from all the major brands and this is the best one. 5 |

Glad to see AMD can finally take on Intel on the gaming area, but for the price ($450 at the time of purchase) seems a bit expensive as 3900X 12-Core is sold at similar price. 5 |

AMD has finally convinced me to replace Intel in my main gaming rig. I've had multiple Ryzen CPUs from every generation and they had always been good for power/thermal constrained use cases, but for ultimate gaming performance Intel was ahead, sometimes by a huge margin in poorly optimized games like the Far Cry series. Now they're ahead or on par in just about every game. Every techtuber loves to say that 8 cores is enough for gaming, but I ran into situations in games like Battlefield 5, Death Stranding, and Cyberpunk 2077 where my 9900K at 5.2GHz didn't have enough multithreaded performance when combined with a 2080 Ti or 3090. No more spikes to 100% usage in 64 player BF5 matches. It's great for H.264 and H.265 encoding as well and when Zen 4 comes along and I inevitably end up upgrading I'm sure this will be a great upgrade for one of my VM hosts/Ceph nodes. 5 |
