Simply put, they're E12 size bulbs that work with Hue. They function just like the other hue bulbs but in this weird form factor. They're quite expensive, always the con with using Hue bulbs. Otherwise, they work great. Hopefully you didn't do what I did and buy a light fixture that needs 6 of these -- oof.

And the big benefit is the video light effects for simulating difference scenarios. Sometimes I use it just to create atmospheric light at the house for gathering. That was a well used purchase. Little on the expensive side but very functional.
