Is Rx100 Good Backpacking Camera

I'm about to go on a backpacking trip with my Sony RX100 II; my camera fits nicely in the pouch with room to spare. Perhaps even more importantly, the pouch's Velcro wings attach PERFECTLY to my Osprey pack shoulder strap. The built-in rain cover is very functional, and I appreciate that it comes attached. I use the outside mesh pocket to hold my extra batteries and lens cleaning cloth. With all of those small items stuffed in there, they're nice and snug so I'm not worried about losing anything. Very happy with my purchase.

Very useful tool that should have been included with the Rx100 camera.

I needed a new camera for some upcoming backpacking trips but I needed it to be lightweight since we’re doing several weeks out, good quality but I didn’t want to break the bank, especially since there’s always the risk of me falling and breaking it since I’m clumsy. I have to say, I’m pleasantly surprised with the quality of the photos, the ease of functions and how light this camera is. Definitely worth the investment.

i use this camera all the time when I travel around (especially backpacking). It's light and has awesome results. For video its really good. The track focus helps a lot, and the HD looks very sharp.

Great little tripod, good size to be able to carry with you hiking or backpacking. Seems to be pretty good quality and strong enough for a DLSR (D750) + 24-120mm lens if I am careful. One thing to watch out for is the tiny ball head, while being very smooth and fine once you get used to it, does not have a separate 'tension' knob - so if you loosen the main knob too much without holding onto the camera it will drop down. Though, I am guessing this is fairly common with really small ball heads like this. Much better than trying to balance your camera on a backpack/jacket/rock or something because you don't have a tripod with you! Overall I am happy so far and would recommend this.

I am using these instead of the higher priced batteries from Sony to use with the Sony RX100 ii camera. These batteries are just as good as those sold by Sony. These Watson batteries are a good value.

This takes what's so good about the RX100 and makes it way more flexible for those of us filming alone. The flip-out camera and built-in mic are both outstanding. I can't recommend this enough

I have an a99ll with good glass. I bought an rx100 for a light travel camera, but did not like the quality of photos, sold it. The A7C exceeds my expectations. Not traveling due to COVID, but may end up replacing my A99ii. Focusing is better than the A99ii. I did not find the viewfinder a problem, and almost always use it rather than the lcd screen. Very happy with the purchase, and definitely recommended.

I've used this for my other camera so know that it is good. However, Sony RX100 VII came with a wrist strap so wouldn't have bought this if I had known.

I have several Nikon APS-C sensor cameras and a couple of really good lenses that I use when I go out to make art. I Love these Nikon cameras. I bought the Sony RX100 VA (after months of ruminating  and research) to replace my old pocket camera (Olympus XZ-1) that I liked to carry all the time. I wanted a true pocket camera that would enable me to capture photographs I could be proud of when great shots materialized. The RX100 VA turned out to be an outstanding choice. It truly fits in any pocket. It has the all important electronic view finder for shooting in blinding light, and its image quality is killer. It is expensive but the price-to-image-quality value is very good. Handling is the low point as it is in any camera this small, but that is the trade off for being able to stuff this guy into any pocket of any piece of clothing in my wardrobe. I carry it everywhere and have fun with it always, knowing its high quality will deliver a mind-blowingly good shot I can be proud of if I do my part.
