Is The D7500 A Professional Camera

I was looking for a good camera to replace my venerable Nikon D1. It still works great and takes great pictures, but the low pixel resolution and grainy low light photos are an issue. I do, however, own some professional lenses for it that I wanted to use with a new camera. After a lot of research I settled on the D7500, for features, specs and price, as well as the ability to not purchase a new set of lenses. I am not a professional photographer by any means, but I also want quality pictures and the D7500 really delivers. My AF-S lenses work perfectly with it and after shooting 450 pictures I am seeing fantastic results. The images are amazingly crisp and clear. Colors are accurate. Shooting in monochrome produces very nice contrasts and depth. The menu options are quite extensive, but it has generally not been difficult to find what I am looking for in them. What isn't obvious is a simple google search away. Nikon has mostly kept the basic controls in the same places so there was not a huge adjustment changing from the D1 to the D7500. If there's anything I am not highly enthusiastic about, it's the SnapBridge function. I have found it to be a pain to use. Personally, I prefer to put the SD card in the computer and import them that way. This is not a ding on the camera itself, if others find SnapBridge useful, then it is a good feature for the camera to have. In summary, I am very pleased with the D7500 and with the purchase from B&H, highly recommend both! 5 |

The D7500 is an older model camera. It is not considered a professional camera, but it's definitely got a professional feel to it. Upgrading finally from the D3400, I had maxed out what I could do with that camera and the D7500 has opened an entirely new world of options. I have primarily been using it to shoot sports, but I have done a few Christmas shoots and the photos are beautiful. Definitely recommend if you're looking to upgrade or simply add to your fleet! 5 |

I’m very satisfied with everything about this purchase. Big leap from a D80 to a D7500, but what a great camera! 5 |

D7500, what a great camera for the money....the Specs tell it all (even up against the D500) Shutter speed to Low light ISO. It does it all. 5 |

I purchased this lens to go with my D7500 camera package and it has been an excellent multipurpose lens. I look forward to my next vacation. I recommend this lens. 5 |

I have tried several circular polarizers with my D7500 and this is the best, hands down. 5 |

If yours just starting back into or getting serious about photography, then this Nikon D7500 camera with the Nikon Nikkor 18-140mm lens is awesome. I have enjoyed this so much that I’m glad I switched from Canon to Nikon. I used to own Canon cameras and lenses when I was last into photography in my B.C. days. (Before Children). It was a serious but expensive hobby; however, I gave it up because we had twin boys and it just was too expensive with some of the challenges we faced and sold my equipment to. So go down the road about 12-13 years... and here we are. We were at one of my sons’ games and realized how much I missed taking action shots. A friend was sharing her shots of our son, and my wife suggested I get a camera for the boys with my recent bonus from work. We did after my research that led me to Nikon and the D7500 as a great in between the pricier full frame cameras and cheaper intro cameras. The fast processor, advanced tools and conveniences, and an overall good bang for the buck were positives, too. I’m glad that I did and enjoy a camera that allows me to avoid limitations over my control of a shot, brings me back to photography in a serious way, and allows me to use a camera that is not completely foreign to me. Nikon is very intuitive and I like the quality of their mid range lenses. I’m not a videographer, so 1080P or 4K video was not a major thing, yet this camera seems to be a great starter for that as well. The weight of the camera is great and it has on board flash. In the end, I’ve had the ability to get some very good shots. I highly recommend this as a step up, an alternative to a 5600, or a cheaper non-mirrorless camera. If your are into mainly videography, my research says go mirrorless; however, if photography is what you are after, consider this one as a serious contender. It’s just really good. 5 |

My other camera is a Nikon D7500 and its main advantage over Leica is the possibility of using several lenses. The feature that Leica has and differentiates it is the focus stacking, absent in my Nikon, in addition to being much more portable and discreet. In short, to take macro photos I choose Leica, to use more than 70 mm zoom, use on Nikon, and in other situations, both are great 5 |

I bought a D7500 after almost 10 years experience with a D5000 and I'm extremely satisfied. Lack of a second SD slot and battery grip do not concern me, as my previous camera did not have those features anyway. I was looking for faster continuous shooting, better color accuracy, and higher ISO capabilities and got it all. I did need to buy bigger faster SD cards and backup batteries, and could quibble about controls placed differently on the camera body but those are minor inconveniences. The first three samples are cropped with no further adjustments. 5 |
