Is The Light Socket Security Camera Any Good

Solid light gives you a good feel of security

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This camera is very high quality! The picture is very clear on the app. The sound quality is excellent. The tracking of human shape is good, but it does pickup animals, and our wind chime sometimes. It’s fun to check on our cats or wildlife in our yard. The flood lights are bright. The ease of install made for a quick setup. Nothing additional needed to be purchased, because we just replaced an old outdoor light with this flood light camera. It even hangs easily while installing it so you don’t have to hold the light while trying to connect wires. It made it an easy one person job. We really like how clear the picture is, for security purposes, we would have a good description of an intruder. I would highly recommend this flood light security camera.

This is a good bulb if your building your first lighting setup. I'm using them with a softbox and a honeycomb. The honeycomb, similar to barn doors, allows you to focus the light in a general direction without leaking light to places you don't want the light to go or bounce. Makes a huge difference. Some tips: Use c-stands + weight bags, not 3-legged stands. 3-legged stands can tip over easy, take up more room, people can trip over them, and can't be weighed down. Use a socket with a fuse. These get hot. Ventilate. Do not leave unattended. Make sure all your lights in a socket have the same color temp. They last a long time provided you handle them with care. They have mercury, so don't break them and dispose of them properly.

Okay, first off don’t be afraid of the 1.3 stop light loss. Any R system camera runs perfectly fine in low light to make it not matter. This lens is stunning, the clearest glass I’ve ever looked through, and that bokeh is worth every penny.

This does only good for your image - no reason to take it off the camera at ANY time. Doesn't create unwanted stylization - only creates a clear picture.

Any photographer worth their salt knows that an in-camera reflected meter can be fooled. For that one reason alone, a good handheld incident meter can be invaluable. This is the meter that sets the standard. I purchased this meter to replace a very old L-28C2 that was recently stolen. I couldn't be happier. This latest version is so dead on accurate it's not funny, and absolutely consistent. It is, of course, not battery dependent, which in my book in just one more plus to be added to a long list of other pluses. I love it. Back in my LD days, I used the old meter to set light levels for professional video productions. It's good to know such great tool is still available.

Works as expected. Really nice to have a flood light with integrated security camera.
