I use the wired remotes before I got this and it is very handy to have the receiver on the camera and the remote in my pocket. 5 |

This receiver has revitalized my 1980s stereo system by allowing Bluetooth transfer from my Sony Walkman (CD quality) and from an iPhone. When powered the receiver goes into pairing mode--your device remembers this receiver...you are connected. So far there has been no problem with connection or distance from the receiver. As this is my second unit (first attached to another stereo system) I only wish I could rename the unit as it comes up with the same name...only to be identified by the Bluetooth address. If you only have one of these, this will not be an issue. Attachment is simple: connect using RCA supplied cord to your receiver aux input. Having it on a switched plug on the receiver is very convenient. If not, you would have to push the light button to switch it into on mode. It has an auto off after a few minutes of not receiving a signal. It also has an optical connection. 5 |

Purchased the NETGEAR PowerLINE 2000 to provide a wired connection to my DirecTV receiver. This solved my problem with dropped wifi connections. Also used the second connection to hard wire connect to my smart TV. On screen apps now work like they are supposed to. Highly recommend this product. Five STARS! 5 |

I wanted an IR remote for my Sony A7r3. I have had unpleasant experiences using the wired remote... the connection to the camera is too fragile and if I am in a creek bed it is always a challenge to keep the remote out of the water. The Vello is easily clipped to a neck lanyard and also comes with a miniature carabiner. Perfect for my needs and very inexpensive. (Note, you have to get into the Sony menus to turn on the option for using the IR remote). 5 |

Got this 3 months ago. I have Canon's wired remote and this remote. I will probably use the wireless remote more often, but there are two drawbacks. 1) uses batteries. 2) the receiver will use your hot shoe mount, so if you plan on using an external flash transmitter you will need a creative solution for it. But overall this thing is great and works well with my 5Dmii and SL1. It only failed to fire once so far. 5 |

This has everything I want for a remote shutter release. The wireless remote control has quite a long range; and if used for wired release you can just connect the cable to the receiver and to the camera, it doesn't even require the battery in the receiver. Both receiver and remote control work quite well, the only minor complaint I have is that you'll need to unscrew two tiny screws in the remote control to replace the battery if needed. I'm not sure why they don't design it the same way as the receiver on which you can just slide off the cover to get to the battery. 5 |

I bought this item as part of the Canon Rebel T3i basic accessory kit and I am absolutely impressed by the quality of the remote pack. The receiver has a handy shoe mount to keep everything organized on the camera end and I've noticed that the wireless remote has a good range. It is fantastic to be able to trigger the shutter from any angle around the camera and not have to rely on the infrared sensor, as would be necessary with one of Canon's proprietary wireless remotes. The wired setup has also proved useful. Whether I'm using it for wired or wireless purposes, my photography has been all the more successful as I don't have to fumble around with the camera to take the perfect shot. My only complaint is that the shoe mount on the receiver is plastic. It seems like it might break over time. Thankfully, that wouldn't impact the functionality of the remote set in any way, but it would be much greater to have a metal shoe mount. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this product and highly recommend it to anyone with a Canon DSLR in their repertoire. 5 |

Finally ordered this to replace my Vello, which is a very good remote, but wired from the camera to the receiver. This does away with the wire, and gives back button focus via the Fn button. It's a winner. 5 |

There is a wire between the receiver and the camera when shooting wirelessly. And since you can use the transmitter as a wired remote, there's a wire there, too. But I do like the extended functionality that the timer provides and that the backlight stays on longer than it does in the wired version of the Shutterboss. 5 |

It takes a bit of learning (it's not exactly intuitive to use without reading the instructions a few times), but it works well. I like how I can use it with multiple brands of cameras, since I own both Canon DSLR's and a smaller OM-D for travel. All I have to do is swap to a compatible cable and the remote transmitter and receiver work flawlessly. I also like how versatile this remote is. It can be used with the receiver for full wireless use, you can connect the cable directly to the transmitter and use it as a wired intervalometer, and if you ever get caught with dead batteries it can be used as a simple wired release as well with no timer functions. 5 |
