[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Pulse 5 is AMAZING! I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a smaller size speaker with great sound and a great lightshow to boot. My daughter used this for a party at our house recently and the kids went wild over the lights. JBL's app let's you control the lights with your phone. Another big plus! The sound is JBL crystal clear. The Pulse 5 stayed charged for the entire party and there was no need to charge the next day either. It is supposed to have 12 hours of play time, but we did not let it go dead. I love the carry strap. It looks like a large coffee cup when not plugged in! No need to worry about rain. This speaker is water resistant. It looks SUPER COOL! I recommend it for anyone, but especially anyone with a child at college. This is also a great dorm speaker. I'm buying one for both my girls.

I had the JBL Pulse 3 and I decided to upgrade. Y'all! This speaker is amazing! I love the way it looks, the light show is awesome. The sound is great, perfect tones and doesn't distort if you turn it up. I love how heavy it is. The only thing I don't like is that the light show doesn't seem to sync to the music, it's more random than on beat, even if you adjust the light show speed. But I would definitely buy this speaker again. Love it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Authentics 500 is a quality eye catching smart speaker (has both Alexa and Google assistant built in) and the fine tuning controls on a downloadable app for your phone. Its look reminds me of classic JBL speakers I’ve seen as a kid, with its black with gold accents and a waffle-like Quadrex grille in the front of the speaker that resembles the 1970’s high end JBL speakers. Even though there is no dedicated RCA inputs for a turntable there is an audio in jack in which you can connect a 3.5mm Stereo Male to 2RCA Male cable, and it works well. I have used the smart feature to create alarms, as a sleep timer, get weather updates, music streaming and to get general information, the extent of its capabilities goes far beyond that all while enjoying the premium JBL sound. The speaker provides plenty of deep bass, and just has a premium sound. Altogether, the system delivers a frequency range of 40Hz to 20 kHz and 270W of power (I got this info from the spec sheet). All of these features make it much more than just a Bluetooth speaker, I believe it will stand the test of time and I will be enjoying it for years to come.

The sound is extremely rich and full that makes you feel like you’re right there at the LIVE performance. The fit and finish with its gold trim and even leather appointed handle puts it at the top shelf of premium JBL speakers. Even the front grill has a gentle left-to-right curvature to it. This speaker has a corresponding app and works with Google, including Chromecast as well as Alexa. We love listening to it in the background on game night. It will definitely fill multiple rooms with rich sounding tunes. My favorite feature about this speaker is the downward firing bass that can be controlled by the illuminated bass dial on the top. This speaker can and will shake the table. Treble works the same way. Battery life has been awesome. You can plug it in as well. While portable, at almost 11 lbs. you’ll want to consider where you take it. This truly is a premium speaker from JBL and I would DEFINITELY recommend it.

This portable smart speaker goes everywhere with me. Much better quality sound than JBL, Beats and Aztec. The Bluetooth range is amazing combined with the Wi-Fi Alexa or your favorite streaming platform makes me want to buy another 1 and link them throughout my entire home.
