Despite being very compact, the sound was so great across the full frequency range. The salesman had told us he did not need a subwoofer, and it really doesn't. We loved it, listening to an action movie, but when we streamed Apple Music it was as good as our high-end audio speakers. it didn't need expansion because the surroundsound is enveloping.
