Kids Stereo Headphones With Radio

I have a portable ham radio that produces mono output. When I have stereo headphones plugged in directly, I only get sound in the left ear. When I have the mono-to-stereo adapter plugged into the radio and the headphones plugged into the adapter, I get sound in both ears, which is exactly what I wanted.

I purchased this radio about a month ago and have really enjoyed using it. My kids are now interested in radio and have fun working with me to test the range/signal propagation. A good mobile radio for families!

These Midland radios are great! I bought the X-Talkers to teach my kids about radio communications use and importance. X-Talkers are a great place to start and overall use. My XT511, MXT400 abd GXTs are awesome as well!

Decided to get back into basic 2 channel stereo as my wave radio just couldn’t get it done. Took the plunge, picked up this receiver and two of the Sony 3 way bookshelf speakers. Wow the power and clarity from the Bluetooth streaming is amazing. Needless to say a CD player and a phono ( which each exceeded the price of the speakers and this receiver) were quickly added on. If your looking to get back into vinyl or just enjoy CDs or streaming to the Bluetooth you can’t go wrong with this receiver.

I'm sure it's not for everybody because it lacks some basic features that a lot of other radios have like an on/off switch or one touch access to favorite stations. But I needed to replace a radio that could not pick up a stereo signal in the room where I was using it and it also couldn't take up much space. The Rolls has no problem reproducing a perfect stereo signal that is strong and quiet. And the unit is also extremely compact. I figured that a very basic and straight forward design built by a company in the U.S.A. that makes equipment primarily for professional use would be of excellent quality and I was right. It's an FM tuner that doesn't do anything else and it's solid and simple. I plugged into it's own small power strip so now it has an on/ off switch and since I only listen to a couple of FM stations at the lower end of the FM band and a couple at the higher end tuning back and forth only takes a few clicks of the up or down tuning buttons. It's so great to finally have a clear clean stereo signal in the room I do most of my radio listening.

This unit is exactly what I was looking for in a stereo receiver. The first thing I was looking for is quality. So far this thing works like a champ and feels well built by the weight of it. I do not need something that has all the whistles and bells. Although it has some extra features that I probably won't use it allowed me to connect to older audio equipment without any trouble. I wanted a basic unit to play music on through the radio and play cds. The design is simple to use and very intuitive. If there is one thing I would add to this unit would be having AM radio available. It's not a deal breaker for me but would be nice if it were there. The antenna could be a little more robust as well.

I have two fives with the stereo separation and the sub as my main music source in the living room. I have a three on the patio used primarily for radio. The sound is incredible. The internet radio opens a whole new world of music, news and sports. The set up is very easy even for an older gentleman such as myself.
