Tried this little beauty in the kitchen with the lights off. Worked like a charm and I didn't have trouble seeing newsprint with the aid of this light. I would highly recommend this if you plan to take night sky pictures. Anyway, it's a lot better than breaking your arm or leg in the dark, or, worse yet, not seeing the edge of a dropoff and taking a hike through the air! 5 |

Yeah, it is sturdy, rugged, waterproof, etc. I got the solid red for a backpacking first aid kit - I just filled it with what I anticipate I might need from other kits. Maybe a little heavy for backpacking but I know everything will stay dry. 5 |
