Korg Synth Shaped Usb Flash Drive

Why pay more for a panda-shaped USB drive? It works. 5 |

I used this to clean the pots on my Korg Delta synth and it worked great! 5 |

The size of this usb drive-shaped reader allows me to carry the reader in all sorts of places that my older readers simply wouldn't fit! It is a fast reader as well! 5 |

Update can be done without old CPU with USB flash drive only. 5 |

This kit comes together very quickly. This little synth kit from Korg packs quite a punch. Nasty sawtooth oscillator, with good filters & effects, plus an arpeggiator! The Korg has midi & other features I haven’t even touched yet. You can also get a nice drone out of this synth. RIP Florian S! 5 |

The Korg Minilogue is a SUPER fun & intuitive analog synth for everyone from beginners to seasoned synthesits. I've been programming synths for 20 years and this was just as fun as the first synth I ever used. Its analog sound is wonderful and thick. Almost everything has a knob or switch for control and, for the patches I was making, I never went into the menus for further editing beyond naming patches and setting sequencer settings. The shape control of the oscillators gives a lot of variation to your standard waveforms and the sync/ring-mod, cross modulation, & pitch envelope of oscillator two really open up the sonic possibilities. I very much enjoy the dedicated switch for velocity modulation of the filter cutoff and I like that there are only two modulation depths beyond none. My favorite feature of the Minilogue is the envelope modulation of either the rate or the intensity of the LFO. This really gives a sense of motion to what is already a sense of motion from the LFO. My only complaint is that the LFO doesn't go fast enough for analog-FM style tones. It's not nearly as fast as the LFO on the Monologue but that's more of an observation that a full drawback. I really enjoyed the different voice modes of this synth, really finding mono, which introduces a variable level sub, and chord, which creates various fixed chords, to be the most useful beyond the standard poly mode. This is by far the best poly synth I have ever found for someone who is interested in learning analog synthesis. The knobs and switches along with the actual layout of them makes programming make sense and a joy to use. The Minilogue does have mini-keys but the mini keys Korg has been using for their new synths are really great. Much better than the microKORG. With the Minilogue, Korg really show us that there will always be room for one more analog synth. 5 |

I play for amusement so finding an inexpensive sustain pedal for my old Korg synth was great. This pedal gives me all I need and the polarity switch means it works for any keyboard. It seems durable enough for home use. 5 |

The Korg Monologue is a fantastic and fun two oscillator fully analog monosynth with selectable ring mod or sync on oscillator two. It lends itself naturally to bass tones and produces them well and with ease. Programming is fluid as almost every parameter has a knob or switch with an intuitive menu accessible through the sequencer buttons for things like tempo syncing the LFO, keytracking the filter, setting velocity control of filter and/or amplitude, assigning the bender, and naming patches. The sequencer is fun to use as well. I never recorded in real time, opting instead to step sequence, which acts as you would expect if you have used other step sequencers. I think it's a little odd that Korg opted for a 100 patch limit instead of a standard 128 but that's more of an observation than a complaint. I did not find many uses for the drive as I found it too aggressive & harsh in most applications but I don't take off pints for this. The LFO is very expressive and can even go up to audio rate in the fast setting, allowing for analog-FM style tones when assigned to any destination. Although this synth does not have full sized keys, they are not as small as say a microKORG or many controllers. They feel pretty natural to play and I wasn't hitting extra keys while using them. I would say this is an excellent first synth for anyone attempting to learn synthesis. However, even an experienced user as myself can find uses for the sound of this synth with its pure analog signal path and excellent sounding filter. 5 |

Korg was really thinking like a synth musician when they created this kit. It works great to visualize the waveforms and harmonic content. I like the fact that the audio pass-through outputs are completely passive which means they work whether the NTS-2 is powered on or not. This way you can just keep it in your signal chain and not worry about running down its batteries (it also runs on USB). Build-wise it is similar to the other Nu:Tekt kits. You need to break apart the circuit boards, but I found that pretty easy to do and they broke cleanly along the score lines. The input and output jacks are through-hole solder type so should be more robust than the SMT style used on the original NTS-1. All-in-all I'm very happy with this purchase. 5 |

We are using a flash drive to store and playback videos on a portable projector. I tried with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive, thinking the newer version was better. But the projector had a different idea. I learned from the professionals at B+H that this unit requires an older USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I never would have thought of that but sure enough, when I used this Verbatim 64G Ergo USB 2.0, the projector recognized the videos and played them flawlessly. 5 |
