Krk R6 Passive Studio Monitor Review

I have been using passive volume devices for my KRK Rokit 5 monitors but the ones I’ve tried seemed cheap and would often lose the audio signal if the volume was too low. This product has a heavy duty feel and the volume knob has some weight to it. It’s a pleasure to turn and feels well made. I don’t have the issue of the audio signal dropping anymore and I am able to plug my headphones into it and control their volume with a separate knob. I haven’t tried to plug my guitar or mic into it yet but I hear it is great for recording.

If you need a passive near field studio monitor a little like Yamaha NS10s but with a nicer sound these are your babies! They have low distortion and a really nice high end and not harsh but also retain a very workable low end which makes mixing a breeze. I use them everyday as a mixer in Los Angeles.

This studio monitor control may be passive, but its knob is anything but. Simple setup, minimal cables. Elegant buttons, and one glorious beast of a knob with butter smooth movement.

As a long time user of KRK and Yamaha studio monitors -,I was blown away by the Sound reproduction of the 8010s! ..These little marvels have now replaced both my Yamaha HS5 and KRK rockit 5”s as my go to mixing monitors for music and film projects .,, could not be happier ..

An excellent option for studio monitors at this price point and a great alternative to the KRK yellow cones. The Adams sound like they are optimized for creating electronic music: excellent bass response and they sound great at all volumes.

Amazing monitor .. dead silent because of passive cooling and I was trying to compare all the qd olds and this one just came on top every time. Very happy with my purchase picture quality is gorgeous and the screen is glossy which is a huge plus

Using the passive display port/hdmi Microsoft adaptor, I could only get 1080 out of a 4k monitor hooked up as a secondary monitor for my Surface Book. Plugged in the active display port adaptor from Startech and problem solved. Took my Surface Book and Startech adaptor to Best Buy and tried multiple 4k monitors to decide which to buy and everyone worked perfectly at 4k resolution.

With the addition of a cage for my FX3, I was lacking in a passive hot shoe for my SmallHD Focus monitor. This does the job at a cost everyone can afford. Solid build.

Because this is passive, one can boot from it.
