La Cie External Hard Drive

The case is just the right size for my La Cie external hard drive and provides an extra layer of protection.

While I am no computer expert LA Cie External Drive was easy to use and it backed up my computer efficiently.

I bought this drive to replace a rugged La Cie whose ports were going bad. It doesn't have the rubber protection of the La Cie, but it's so small, you can easily slip it into your pocket and protect it like that. It comes with ExFat formatting , which although compatible with Monterey OS, is NOT compatible with Time Machine. So step one: reformat to APFS. Then it works great and can be backed up to Time Machine along with my other drives. If for some reason you decide to keep the ExFat formatting, be aware that it is a data hog, causing your files to take up 1.5 to 2 times more space than APFS requires.

This is my 3rd La Cie drive and I was so delighted with the previous two that I wouldn't think about getting anything else now. I travel quite a lot and depend on LaCie to safely record all of my images on those trips. My first two LaCie drives have been with me for probably 20+ years now on several major trips each year. They have never had a problem bringing all of my images home. I appreciate the durable orange protective shell because it keeps everything safe and I don't have to worry about product protection or failures.

I just received this in the mail, speedy as usual (thank you, B&H). It fits my Le Cie 2T hard drive perfectly. What's especially great is that my Sandisk SSD drive, and the cables for both drives also fit. It's a wee bit snug, but in a good way that keeps either drive from jiggling around. I'm super happy with this little case!
