I use this drive as the Time Machine backup disk for my laptop running OS X Yosemite; it works nicely. With the drive on my desk, I can still hear the cooling fan, but I don't mind it. I think the device is well designed (easy-to-use and looks good), and it has a good warranty. 5 |

I converted to WD HDD's about a year ago. I had been using another brand for years but, the reliability just was not what it used to be. WD HDD's have been running perfectly in my machine, no issues to date. Fast Free Shipping from B&H is always appreciated! 5 |

I have 3 of these (14TB) running as Time Machine targets for about 2.5 years. Time Machine takes a backup once an hour, rotating through the drives. I've never had any problems. I do wish they had an activity light, though. Note: In order to be used with Time Machine, these MUST be formatted as HFS+ (NOT Fat32 or ExFat). Only takes a few minutes. 5 |
