I cannot hear it when it runs under my desk where I have it hooked up to my PC and XBOX. Though I work with three NVMe disks, I use these disks in pairs, online (in the machine, but usually powered off) and offline (in a canister in a different physical location). If I revisit a project, I can use the online ARCHIVE disk without significant hit to performance. I've never had a failure in this use case. Warranty means little to me as I would never allow a disk to leave my location with data on it. I was taken back by the 10% price increase from the last unit that I bought to this one.
