This handheld recorder replaced 15 lbs of bulky equipment (including a mixer and laptop) in our old podcasting setup and works far better thanks to its multi-track recording. If you produce shows with more than two people, this is a great, affordable way to go. 5 |

The unit only weights 5 lbs but it feels solid and supports the laptop like it was custom made for it. The mass of the solid aluminum construction absorbs and dampens vibration. The laptop sits solidly with no bounce when using the keyboard. If your laptop has an aluminium body it naturaly blends in with the unit creating an almost seamless fussion. 5 |

It is a bit heavy at 15 lbs. by itself and more with camera gear and laptop inside, but is very sturdy and durable. I love the roll case feature. Haven't had it long enough to try it out as a carry-on at an airport. Holds two cameras with lenses and assorted accessories. 5 |
