I bought a new laptop that only had the one audio/mic output and I had an older headset that had two separate connections. One for the mic and one for the headset. This splitter saved me from buying a whole new headset by separating the mic and the speaker into two separate connections. The sound was good and the users on the other end did not have any issues with the sound quality of the mic. Unit is small and compact and easily transportable wherever I go. I have taken this bag to France and India without any problems. The trolley strap is quite useful and it has a good width to it. It fits my slim, 13 laptop nicely, and as long as you have notebooks or the camera in there, you won't have to worry about the floppiness I think some other reviewers said. It's heavy, but I can easily carry my laptop, Nikon D70 with its wide-angle lens attached, plus a zoom lens, a notebook, external hard drive, cell phone and other smaller items all at the same time. Be careful with the rain/reflective cover because if you don't secure the velcro and the snaps, you might loose it. I'm a journalist and I found its versatility quite useful over the past six months. Looking forward to using it for several years to come - well worth the investment so far. 5 |

For the price range, this is really a good mic headset. It's basic, but it sounds good and the mic performs well, for those of us that need just that - a cheap but good headset. Nothing fancy, it just works, and that it does well. 5 |

More the price the headset is worth it alone! I used the professionally for doing video interviews at a wedding. The Mic did a great job and the headset fit great and the sound quality was great. My only complaint was with the XLR connector on the microphone. I had a hard time plugging it into my video camera and unplugging it afterwards. 5 |
