Laptop Mechanical Keyboard Not Working

0000-00-00 00:00:00

My job has me working from home, and in 6 different offices, some days I can't guarantee which location I'll be the following day. I finally was fed up with just dealing with whatever dusty, used mouse & keyboard might be available in whatever office I was in and bit the bullet to get a good set I could take with me anywhere for consistency. (I did buy a separate rigid clamshell case for the keyboard & mouse to keep from damaging them in my backpack) I've enjoyed using mechanical keyboards for years, from an IBM mechanical keyboard in the late 80s-90s, and a few with Cherry MX Blue switches for my PC since 2010. I hate standard laptop keys and membrane keyboards. The MX Mechanical is a joy to type on and the shortcut keys are a welcome addition (dedicated calculator app button especially). The MX Master 3S is extremely comfortable to use, and the horizontal scroll wheel is convenient since I'm in excel & Google spreadsheets for most of the day. The fact that these are both wireless and share the same USB receiver has made my setup/packup less stressful, no longer fumbling with wires and multiple usb plugs. The USB receiver stays in my laptop and I just flick the on/off switch for the Keyboard and Mouse at the start/end of my work day.

Of course it's a great keyboard, it's ASUS! It definitely made working my laptop easier since the Burrito Incident.

It gives you the nice, clean feeling of a mechanical keyboard, but it's silent!!

Got this keyboard to work with a Dell XPS laptop for both working while docked and for travel. It's well made and the keys have excellent response and travel for touch typing. The illumination of the keys is easy to control right from the keyboard. No drivers to install. The only odd item is choice of font for the keys. It's not a deal breaker but odd. Also the print screen key is labeled PS, scroll lock SL, etc. Why they changed labeling conventions from other keyboards is mystifying. But, that being said, great keyboard.

The set-up was a breeze and both keyboard and mouse are working fine for my business laptop used as a desktop replacement. I have no complaints, especially given the very reasonable price.

This is working just like I hoped. It is very sturdy and well made. The rubber padding on top keeps the laptop in place and prevents any scratching. The lip on the front makes sure the laptop does not fall off. It also has rubber padding on the bottom to prevent slipping on the desk and also makes sure there is no scratching of your desktop. I like the color and design of the stand too. It looks great. Having the cut-out on the back allows you to attach a keyboard and snake the cables discreetly thru so it looks nice and neat. You can then store the keyboard underneath if you'd like. The edges of the metal is rounded off and not sharp. I also like the height of the stand, it's the perfect height for me. Feels comfortable to work and good eye-line. And the 15 degree down angle feels comfortable. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

For this price, this is a really really excellent product. Very lightweight, extremely versatile, I've used it to make a standing desk for my laptop, to elevate my laptop to standing height while using a propped up monitor and keyboard so that my video perspective during video calls is at the correct height, in bed, on a recliner, on the couch, in an Adirondack chair...I could go on and on. Sure, the joints have some plastic pieces, but for the price, this cannot be beat. If you're working from home a lot and are looking for a way to make any of the many odd places at home into a more comfortable working space, I highly recommend this product. It also comes with a couple small pieces of hardware to increase the size of the lip, which I've used to prop up an external keyboard on top of my laptop while reclining. I basically have a fully ergonomic office that I can use from anywhere in my house. Money very well spent - your neck and wrists will thank you.
