Laptop Ssd Upgrade

I had to upgrade my laptop from HDD to SSD, and that left me with a huge storage problem. I bought two of these and maxed them out with 300 Steam games, and so far, all of them have worked fine! If you're in need of some extra space, this is a good buy. One thing to note: Windows automatically hibernates thumb drives by default, but it's easy to fix with a web search.

I thought that little storage would not be an issue since I was going to use the laptop mainly for browsing and emails. However, I fell in love with the laptop and I started using it more (storing photos / downloading movies for watching on plane). My laptop needed more hard drive space and an upgrade to 500GB SSD from Western Digital solved all my issues The actual upgrade is simple and there are lot of Youtube videos that explain this step. If you do not have hard drive enclosure I would recommend getting one before you start. The entire process took me close to 2 hours. The new WD Blue SN570 NVMe™ SSD was a perfect fit for my laptop. I have noticed increase in laptop performance and have not run into any issues as such. Great replacement SSD.

This thing is great if you wish to upgrade a laptop or desktop that currently is using an HDD. This ssd will make boot times great and just overall system use feel more responsive. The only downside I have is it isn't the greatest ssd for pure speed but, for the price you are paying it is well worth it.

This upgrade from standard mechanical drive to SSD improved my boot time and overall performance! Went from over 10 minutes to less than 2 to boot up and now has all the apps running and waiting for me to use my laptop. I wasn't sure I wanted a laptop, but I bought a slightly used one from a friend to help them out. Initially I was disappointed. The laptop was years newer than my towers but a disappointing startup, once I realized it still had a mechanical drive in it, it was well duh! Replacing the drive was all I needed to finally move into having an easily mobile and effective computer to use.

If you haven't done so yet and you have a standard HDD in your laptop, please please upgrade to a SSD. The difference in performance is nothing short of extraordinary. Crucial makes a great drive at a reasonable price. Please get one if you haven't all ready. You will be amazed.
