Laptop With Docking Station Port

This laptop docking station has a lot to offer for people that have laptops with no docking feature option. I have an Ultrabook with only 2 USB ports and no other option like Ethernet and as soon I connected it, just work great and plug and play. Great features like the gigabit ethernet port, USB 3.0 4k DisplayPort, audio port, 1 USB Type-B (for a printer)and lock port. I had no problems and I recommend it. The USB3VDOCK4DP laptop docking station with 4K DisplayPort has a lot of features for such a small device! It comes with a gigabit ethernet port, 4k DisplayPort, USB 3.0 Fast-Charge, 2 - USB USB 3.0, audio port, 1 USB Type-B (for a printer) and Kensington lock port. No issues when connecting laptop and I did enjoy how little space was taken. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This docking station is small in size and yet powerful. It comes with a 300W supply so it can power the laptop and provide USB power as well. It has 3 USB 3.0 ports and 1 lightening (USB C) port on the back and 1 usb port and 1 lightening port on the front. It also has 2 Display Port, 1 HDMI Port connectors and an RJ-45 connector on the back. The lightening connector on the back can also be used for a USB C monitor. There are not enough usb 3.0 ports on the back. I'm used to docking stations that connect to the laptop via a connector on the bottom of the laptop. These have more USB ports than this docking station. The double connector used to connect this to my laptop is a little clumsy but the docking station serves it's purpose.

Have had the cables for two weeks and so far they have been working. My setup is a little unique. I have four Dell 1920x1200 monitors connected to a Dell Thunderbolt4 docking station for my work laptop that also has a Thunderbolt4 port. The cables connect the first set of two monitors to the two Thunderbolt ports on the docking station via the USB-C/DispayPort 1.4 port on the monitors. The second set of monitors are daisy chained to the first set's DisplayPort Out For MST port. Using this arrangement allow me to pass the video and USB data thru a single cable to each set of monitors. I did this because the Logitech USB headset I have has intermittent noise problem when connected to the docking station's USB ports, but doesn't when connected to the monitor's USB ports. The first set of monitors were originally connected to the docking station thru DisplayPort cables and then used a separate USB cable to provide an uplink from the docking station to the monitor's USB-C/DisplayPort port. The headset would still have the intermittent noise. The only other way to prevent it was to plug it directly into the laptop. It was an expension solution to just having one cable plugged into the laptop to run everything else. Plus I wanted to see what kind of connections could be made using the Thunderbolt technology. The reason I didn't daisy chain all four monitors with one cable is because two of the monitors are older and don't have that capability.

I have a laptop docking station (display port, dvi) and a PC (dvi, dvi) connected to the switch. the switch is then connected to one monitor via dvi, and the other via a dvi-hdmi cable. My docking station requires an adapter for the display port. I am having no issues switching between the two. The PC and laptop goes to sleep just as it did before using the switch.� One thing that is a bit odd is the monitor that is connected via the dvi-hdmi cable will randomly come on even if neither the PC or laptop is on. Not a big deal, I just turn the monitor off when I am done using it.

Great docking station. I use it to display two monitors and the laptop screen.

I was able to attach three monitors to my Dell Inspiron 17 - 3780 Laptop but I needed two display port to HDMI cables to attach my two HDMI monitors - and when connecting to the Display Ports the one HDMI out on the docking station replicates one of the Display Port outputs... combined with using the HDMI out on my laptop and the screen of my laptop I have four monitors now - it would have been nice to attach five if the HDMI out on the docking station wasn't replicating one of the display port outputs... In any case, the universal dock has been rock solid so far.

Easy set up and comfortable to use. Great addition when using laptop with docking station.

Perfect docking station, mainly because it transfer data and also charges the laptop

The X1 Carbon, is leightweight, but still very powerful. The docking station makes it the most useful laptop that I have ever owned.
