Just realised I'd been using it since 2008, so figured I would throw out a review. Bit surprised it's still sold. It's never missed a beat and it's been dragged all over the place. Have used mostly for 24-105L and 70-200L and never had any slips or accidents even when moving it around with camera & lens attached. One of the few buy it once products! 5 |

I have previously used an E-500 and E-3 body which I have been mostly happy with. I ordered the E-5 and sold my E-3 at the same time. I was then left wondering if I'd done the right thing, as on paper their isn't a huge difference between the E-3 and E-5. I cant believe what a difference there is in image quality and low light performance. I now wish I'd keep the E-3 to do a comparison but the difference is significant. I felt immediately right at home with the E-5 as it works almost identically to the E-3 with just a few operational improvements. I use it with the 12-60 SWD, 50-200, 50mm Macro and the 8mm Fisheye which are all beautiful lenses. The higher res screen is a huge improvement. My photography partner shoots with Nikon and her shots always looked better on the camera than mine with the E-3. Not so with the new E-5 screen. I can't wait to shoot another wedding but the test shots I've done so far are in a different class to the E-3. I couldn't be happier with my choice. 5 |

I sold my Sigma 150-600 Contemporary and purchased the Nikon 200-500, mainly so I could still used the Nikon Teleconverters that I already owned. The lens is everything I had hoped! I had a Nikon 400mm F/2.8, but I found it difficult to hold steady at my age. Even with the drop from the prime lens to the 200-500, I am still very happy with the results. Detail is crisp, and I notice very little - if any - drop after adding a 1.4 TC. Love it!! Bob 5 |
