Large Custom String Instruments

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

This mic sounds very nice for vocals, plucked string instruments, and woodwind instruments (at least that's what I've tried it on). I highly recommend it!

If you have read the specs you already know that this case is heavy and very large. This may make it unwieldy for some people to handle, even when empty, but once it is on the wheels it is easy to move about. The large interior size makes this case very versatile. Large items such as long benchrest rifles with expensive optics, surveying instruments and bulky camera equipment, as well as musical instruments, can be safely transported. I can fit an alto sax, a tenor sax, a laptop, some electrical equipment, and some literature in my case with ease. The saxes ride in their own cases within the 1770. The foam can be configured to hold a large number of smaller items such as cameras, iPads etc. It is easier to keep track of one large case at the airport than it is to do so for multiple dedicated cases. The latches are very sturdy, and the provision for locks seems to be robust. It would be nice if the case had a side handle, for that would make it easier to one person to carry the case over rough ground where the wheels would not function well or could be damaged. I am very pleased with my 1770.

I bought two of these packages so I would have the two medium condenser mics along with some other medium and large condenser mics for up close recording of individual instruments and use the two pencil mics to capture the stereo image from back in the audience. These two mics in this package do not disappoint -- the aural quality and clarity is great and considering the price they are phenomenal.

Solid case that can protect sensitive equipment from water, shock, and vibration. This case is large and heavy -- expect oversize and overweight luggage fees from airlines. Functional and nicely styled, more attractive than its big-name competitor. The factory foam comes in five layers -- lid and very bottom are ~1 thick and should not be altered. The middle three layers are 3 (top), 3 (middle), and 2 (bottom) and come pre-perforated on a 2cm grid. The perforations do not necessarily line up vertically across all three layers. Use a kitchen knife to custom cut, as needed. It is easy to follow the perforated grid, but custom/diagonal cuts are possible. Cut each layer as needed. I got creative and tucked smaller equipment away on each layer, using the 3D space. I also may one large bin for less delicate equipment.

The white and grey panels are large enough to be easily used for custom in-camera WB and stow easily and compactly in the provided cover. Easy to carry or throw in your camera bag.

The card was so large that I had to remove my custom loop but it was worth it for the performance boost. Upgraded from a ROG 2070 Super. No regrets love ROG.
