I have been using a d850 since October 2018 without a hitch and still love it. In fact, I see little reason to upgrade since sensor performance has hardly improved over the d850 in the latest full frame models. Before the d850 I was using a d750. Beyond the greater pixel count, the autofocus performance and dynamic range of the d850 are noticeably superior to the d750. The d850 remains a great camera and retains one clear advantage over the Z mount cameras: it can autofocus the old screw drive lenses, which matters to me as I still use my 180mm 2.8D. If autofocus were critical to my work, maybe I would get a Z mount camera since the latest models seem to be superior in that area, but my current work is mostly landscape photography using tilt-shift lenses. For this project, the Z mount cameras are not a significantly better than the d850.

A friend of mine gave me a first-generation set of these 10 years ago. I’ve used them consistently since and the latest models are even better.

I have four (4) old Magsafe cables from old MacBook Pro models through the years. Now that I have the latest model (Mid-2015), I was wondering if I'd have to pay big $$$ to get more (one for the office, one for the house, one for my laptop bag so I'd never be without..., yes, it rhymes). But this little $$item means I can use all my old cables over again! I have one new Magsade cable that came with the new MacBook Pro, the rest of the cables remain where they are, with the addition of this small item. And the magent is tight, so there's very little risk it'll get lost!

Used as gifts for models after professional shoots, and gifts in general. Flattering finish.

There are always those times, particularly in professional audio after we switch everything over to the latest and greatest, when we wish we could still make use of that old gear that seems no longer compatible, and that seems to have no replacement! And then of course we don't want to go through a lot of audio converters after we already have exactly what we want in the digital domain... So, welcome to the world of format converters! I found this little box to be extremely handy interfacing COAX/SPDIF outboard gear back to the DAW, either through sample rate converters or directly to an AES/EBU digital interface. In our particular case we use an RME ADI-192 DD to downsample digital output from Pro Tools HD for use by, let's say an old PCM-80 or a couple of Kurzweil Rumours. This drives the cables in both directions with perfect synchronization, no digital clicks or pops, and everything stays squeaky-clean without the need to worry about the length of the cable runs, etc. It's a unit you can trust, but buying a few copies WILL run you some change...

I have always relied on Pelican water tight cases for all my professional gear. The latest edition, the 1200 Mini-S case houses my Atmos Ninja V and all it's accessories. When it comes to protecting your gear, it's Pelican... Case Closed!

My second purchase of a Vello Battery Grip, first one was for a D750, the latest for a D850. Professional packaging, looks indentical to Nikon product but at 25% of the cost. I am very wary of third party accesories but this one does the job, highly recommended.

This is the answer to many of the problems associated with the latest lenses and camera bodies.

These days a semi-modular PSU is a must if you want to hide cables in a professional build. All the regular sellers of the Corsair 450 models were on back order, so I bought these 650 models, which only BH Photo would ship on time for my buildouts (3 business class rigs.) The models are virtually silent, attractive and sized perfectly.

I have found this to be a great mat cutter. Admittedly, I'm not a professional--I use this to cut mats occasionally for my own photographs. But I've found it to be easy to use and to do a very nice job. This is a perfectly good mat cutter, and the price is right by comparison with more expensive models. I'm glad I didn't go for any of the more expensive models.
