Leica Digital Film Camera

I use this with my Voigtlander 15mm lens on a Leica film camera and a Leica digital camera. It is an essential tool if you want to see what you are taking pictures of with this equipment. The viewfinder itself is very well built, made of brass with a black finish. It looks good. It presents a very clear frame that is easy to see for those of us who wear glasses. Just be careful not to loose it. I was using the 28mm version of this when It came out of the hot shoe. After retracing my steps for several blocks I found it on the pavement, somewhat scraped, but otherwise fine. (now it looks like I've been in a war or two!) 5 |

I own a Leica MP film camera as well as the Leica M11-P digital camera. Thanks to this diopter I can now focus my rangefinder cameras in lightening speed. 5 |

Having been a Leica shooter for many years with film cameras, it seemed your right thumb naturally went for the film advance lever when using the camera...the first thing you miss on the digital bodies. I never bought one of these for my first digital M - the M8 - but I'm delighted with how this feels on my M (typ240). It slotted in perfectly in the hot shoe and seems to be precision built. I often shoot with the 21mm accessory finder so I need one with the cold shoe...and this works perfectly. 5 |

Much easier to use with the standard base of the leica m cases. Works for both film and digital M's. 5 |

i use this lens on both leica film cameras and on a Sony NEX-5 for digital. It is very well built and very versatile. I love the 1.5 aperture for portraits and I find the bokeh very pleasing. Some do not like the style of the photos generated by this lens, but I do very much. On the Sony, it is a joy to use and very easy to manually focus with the focus peaking feature and manual assist. it takes 46mm filters so you may have to get a new size if your other leica lenses are 39mm. 5 |

This film is unreal and blows away digital period. I used this film with Nikon and Leica cameras and the results were stunning. 5 |

I took a photography class in early 90s using b/w film and learned how to develop and make my own prints. I even had (still have bit don’t use) an enlarger and all the other stuff for a a makeshift dark room. Then I gave up with the film v digital a few years later. I have been using Nikon gear for years including film cameras in the beginning. Now I have some Nikon Z gear and really love it. For years and years I have seen Leica cameras and thought “why are they so expensive?”. Not that Nikon isn’t but the Leica just seemed different and I maintained a curiosity about them but never really got too deep in the study of why Leica? A couple months ago I came across some info about the Leica Monochrom Q2M. I read reviews and was able to see some incredible images others captured with them. So one day I took the plunge and ordered one. I had no idea how much I would love it!!! I am still learning and have lots of room for improvement but I am much more likely to grab the Leica bag if I head out the door for whatever reason. I still love my Nikon but I also really love the Q2M. The decision process is simpler with the Q2M. Q - What lens? A - Always the same… 28mm Q - Color or B/W A - Always B/W Composition is important but with the high resolution images are easily cropped (digital zoom). AND the Leica FOTO app is great for remote camera functions. 5 |

I am returning to film photography after a stint with some great digital cameras like Nikon D810, Sony A7R II, and Fujifilm X-Pro 2. As it stands now, I sold all those cameras and my Leica M-A is still with me and going strong. Don't get me wrong, all those digital cameras take great pictures, but I always feel like something is missing from the experience. Shooting the M-A is as much about the result as it is about your picture taking experience. In that sense, the Leica M-A is superb. It reduces photography to its bare essentials, and by doing so, photography feels like an intimate conversation with one's own creativity or vision. If I could read this very review just a year ago, I would probably laugh at myself! Now, it's all too late for me. Save yourself and look elsewhere if you can. If not, you might embark on a lifelong love affair with Leica. 5 |

I use it to carry my Leica IIIG on my belt as a BW film spare along with my usual complement of digital stuff. Very convenient and typical Lowepro quality. 5 |
