For me and my use, the B+W Filters are the best ! This 49mm ND filter (-3 stops) is excellent for my Leica Q2 Monochrome !

Please Leica , make a 60 or 75 f1.7 and I will never bother you again. I have the Q2 color and newly the Q2 monochrome and I do not want to clean the sensor for the rest of my life (having spent many years cleaning them). This is the Leica that I have dreamed of: enough pixels to be comfortable; depth of B&W that makes you dream in time. I heard that it is one of the best selling and I have no doubts so you don't need me to say how good it is. One preference of mine would be to have the manual dials that give me the ISO and the shutter speed rather than being digital.

I have the M10 Monochrome, and yes, I feel like a camera snob, but this lens is wonderful particularly for portraits. And honestly I haven't done much with the higher f stops. The bokeh is what one would expect from an f0.95, and the process and results for focusing is just like name brand Leica glass in the M10. At a price less than 10% of the Leica Noctilux, if you're seriously torn between the two, it would totally be worth your time and money to get on a plane, visit B&H, and try this lens! Or better yet, just buy it. High likelihood you'll giggle with delight at what this lens can do, particularly at this price!

I have a 49mm #22 Orange on backorder for my new Leica q2 monochrome, but I have the 52mm #22 orange for my Nikkors AIS lenses when I shoot b&w on my Z6. Absolutely makes a huge difference in the sky/cloud contrasts and works well with people, so I pretty much leave it on my lenses.

The metal lens cap that comes standard on a Leica Q2 Monochrome just doesn't cut the mustard. Not only won't it snap onto the lens, it slides off very easily....sometimes in the bag! On top of that, all it actually protects is the very front of the lens. OP/TECH hoods like this one stay on the lens very well if you get the right size. And in the case of this one on this particular camera, it offers padded protection of the f-stop and focus rings! I'm super impressed of their products hitting it out of the park for what is basically pennies in a gear freak's budget!

Leica's BW settings are the best. It's amazing to look through the viewfinder and see the world the way you've always seen it. Highly recommend if you see the world in monochrome.

While the Leica Q2 Monochrome is a BEAST in low light conditions I found a desire to have a little fill light in some instances. I have never been much a fan of flash and it's sometimes overpowering effects to an image and the people I shoot. I love getting random portraits of strangers and the dim light this unit throws when turned down lets people know I'm going to grab a shot of them. It becomes clearly evident if they don't want their picture taken and can result in less confrontations as well as not blinding them with a flash even when set at a low output. It's all I could ask for and a little more!

The Pentax Monochrome, following Leica's lead into digital black and white photography, opens the doors for affordable, high quality rebirth of B&W images for hobbyists and professional photographers alike. As a young hobbyist I will never forget watching my first image emerge in the development pan in the dimly red light room. A second AHA moment was my first view of B&W negatives taken with my first Leica rangefinder camera and lens. I now have a third, and possibly most important event, that occurred when I reviewed my first images using the Pentax monochrome camera -- finely nuanced B&W pictures that virtually jumped off from the view screen. My first thought was that I had been shortsighted and tight-fisted by my initial response to the high price of the Leica Monochrome cameras. My second thought was that there now exists a clear, challenging future for hobbyists and professional photographers. The question most photographers now have to answer for themselves is how best to capture their images. There is a bright future awaiting B&W photography. The Pentax monochrome is an incredible photographic instrument at an unbelievably low price. Leica opened the door to 35mm photography and now has opened the door to digital B&W photography. The Pentax DSLR is the first to follow Leica and has done so with its SOA improvements to DSLR cameras. It will not take long for all the usual copycats to compete in this new and exciting dimension of photography.

Like (most) all Leica products, it fits and works great. Have this on my M10 Monochrome, and it gives a superior grip, especially when Carrying the camera one handed. Expensive, but it's a Leica, and you only buy it once.
