Leica R9 35Mm Film Camera Reviews

This is the goat when it comes to 35mm film camera. I 'm glad Leica is still making it. Love it! 5 |

I tried this film, for the first time, by running it through my Leica, using both a 50MM F2 Summicron and a 35MM F2 Summicron, utilising a Leitz 39MM deep red filter. I determined the exposure compensation by holding the filter in front of the meter, taking a reading, and then another reading without the filter and arrived at 3&1/2 stops which equates to a filter factor of 8-10, or so. In any event, the images were spectacular! The sky is rendered almost black and clouds were a brilliant white, with detail (think Zone 2-3) in them. Without a filter, SPX performs closely to a regular B&W film in its rendition. I had a lot of fun using this film, not being sure of the outcome but I was quite pleased with the results and I will not hesitate to use it again. Hope this was useful for you... 5 |

If you are a Leica fan, a 35mm film shooter, and believe in the virtues of the rangefinder system, the MP will satisfy your needs. It is a lot of money, but it is a brilliant piece of gear that will do what you want it to do. I use two other Leica cameras, M6's, so this the perfect addition to my system. You will be glad you made the purchase. 5 |

I use this with my mirrorless camera and the Essential Film Holder. I scan tons of 35mm film and this light works perfectly. 5 |

I use this with a Sony camera to scan 35mm film. It's flawless. I combine with the Essential Film Holder and it works very well. 5 |

Plenty of room for a 35mm camera, 2 lenses, and extra film/batteries/whatever else! 5 |

I started with a 35mm asph Leica Summicron. The color fringing was awful so for @2K used I decided to send it back. Bought this lens and learned what has been said. The best option in lenses is the ones designed for the camera you own. I own a Sony A7R and use a 50mm Summicron and am considering selling it for the Zeiss 55mm made for my camera. They are light and function as they should. These lenses are better for your A7 or A7R than anything else you might put on your camera. 5 |

I purchased the Leica MP with a 35mm F/2 Summicron and use this for general walk-around/travel photography. I don't consider myself a street photographer, but I've been intrigued with rangefinder cameras for quite some time. Build quality is amazing. The camera feels like a solid block of metal. I would have preferred a match needle meter instead of the LED lights, but there's really not much to complain about. I'm a left-eye shooter, so things can get a little uncomfortable with the winder, but I'm used to that from my older cameras. Holding the camera properly takes some getting used to. I found myself covering the rangefinder mirror on the right side by accident on a few occassions. Also, I wish faster shutterspeeds were available, but I understand there are limitations due to the type of shutter used. Overall, the MP is a pleasure to use, and is quickly becoming my favorite camera. 5 |
