Leica Refurbished Digital Cameras

Having been a Leica shooter for many years with film cameras, it seemed your right thumb naturally went for the film advance lever when using the camera...the first thing you miss on the digital bodies. I never bought one of these for my first digital M - the M8 - but I'm delighted with how this feels on my M (typ240). It slotted in perfectly in the hot shoe and seems to be precision built. I often shoot with the 21mm accessory finder so I need one with the cold shoe...and this works perfectly.

i use this lens on both leica film cameras and on a Sony NEX-5 for digital. It is very well built and very versatile. I love the 1.5 aperture for portraits and I find the bokeh very pleasing. Some do not like the style of the photos generated by this lens, but I do very much. On the Sony, it is a joy to use and very easy to manually focus with the focus peaking feature and manual assist. it takes 46mm filters so you may have to get a new size if your other leica lenses are 39mm.

In my opinion, B+W make the best quality filters available today. I use them on my digital cameras and on my classic Leica. This is just a great quality simple UV filter that works. Good stuff.

I love the Leica 90mm f/2.8 ELMARIT and now I can have a solid imitation for my digital L-mount cameras.

This film is unreal and blows away digital period. I used this film with Nikon and Leica cameras and the results were stunning.

I took a photography class in early 90s using b/w film and learned how to develop and make my own prints. I even had (still have bit don’t use) an enlarger and all the other stuff for a a makeshift dark room. Then I gave up with the film v digital a few years later. I have been using Nikon gear for years including film cameras in the beginning. Now I have some Nikon Z gear and really love it. For years and years I have seen Leica cameras and thought “why are they so expensive?”. Not that Nikon isn’t but the Leica just seemed different and I maintained a curiosity about them but never really got too deep in the study of why Leica? A couple months ago I came across some info about the Leica Monochrom Q2M. I read reviews and was able to see some incredible images others captured with them. So one day I took the plunge and ordered one. I had no idea how much I would love it!!! I am still learning and have lots of room for improvement but I am much more likely to grab the Leica bag if I head out the door for whatever reason. I still love my Nikon but I also really love the Q2M. The decision process is simpler with the Q2M. Q - What lens? A - Always the same… 28mm Q - Color or B/W A - Always B/W Composition is important but with the high resolution images are easily cropped (digital zoom). AND the Leica FOTO app is great for remote camera functions.

I am returning to film photography after a stint with some great digital cameras like Nikon D810, Sony A7R II, and Fujifilm X-Pro 2. As it stands now, I sold all those cameras and my Leica M-A is still with me and going strong. Don't get me wrong, all those digital cameras take great pictures, but I always feel like something is missing from the experience. Shooting the M-A is as much about the result as it is about your picture taking experience. In that sense, the Leica M-A is superb. It reduces photography to its bare essentials, and by doing so, photography feels like an intimate conversation with one's own creativity or vision. If I could read this very review just a year ago, I would probably laugh at myself! Now, it's all too late for me. Save yourself and look elsewhere if you can. If not, you might embark on a lifelong love affair with Leica.

This adapter makes it easy to use older Zeiss, Leica, and even Russian lenses on modern digital cameras. Opens up a whole new world in lens choice. Highly recommended.

I use this bag for my Leica M and R cameras. I carry an M with lenses and an R8 with one lens, filters, a Pentax Digital Spotmeter, etc. The bag is just large enough but with all of this gear it is comfortable to carry and efficient to use. I also own a Domke original bag which I have had for years and I like the fact that the design F6 is similar to that of my other bag making everything familiar and natural. I highly recommend this bag.

I've been taking photos professionally for more than 35 years, mostly in a studio, so I've only really owned higher end point-and-shoot cameras (Leica D-Lux 3 and 4) for general picture taking outside the studio. That is, until I bought the Fuji X-Pro3. Even though I owned a few Leica M lenses, I just couldn't justify buying and M10, especially since it seemed to be short on features compared to other high-end digital cameras. I think the X-Pro3 has a great compliment of modern digital camera features blended with an old-school camera layout and feel. I've compared the quality of photos it takes with my best studio cameras (Pentax 645Z & Fuji GX680 w. Phase One digital back) and the X-Pro3 holds its own in terms of dynamic range and overall feel. I like being able to change film simulations for different shooting situations. And, coming from a film camera background, I don't at all mind not having its back screen showing all the time. I bought a few lenses for my X-Pro3: a XF16-55MMF2.8 R LM WR; XF10-24MMF4 R OIS WR and a XF50-140MMF4 R LM OIS WR and they're all tack-sharp and have a heft and construction quality that matches my old Leica M lenses. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my X-Pro3 system. And the camera body and all three lenses cost a little more than just HALF of what a Leica M10r body alone would have cost.
