Lenovo Ethernet Port Adapter

I always take my multiport adapter with me whenever I'm traveling. Super handy especially the ethernet port.

I have a Lenovo Yoga laptop that I absolutely love, but it has no ethernet port and I'm an I.T. technician and frequently have to troubleshoot wired networks. This thing works great and is plug and play with Windows 10. Lightweight, easy to use and it just works. I highly recommend it for anyone needing access to wired only networks when you're using a laptop without a ethernet port. Also, it is so much faster than wireless, if you have an ethernet cable and can use the wired networking downloads and updates are vastly improved in both speed and stability.

I had been searching in vain for a small, humble adapter with VGA, ethernet, and USB-A ports, but *without* pass-through charging. And then I found this little gem, quite literally exactly what I need. All the other docks and adapters from elsewhere either had too much, not enough, or not the right combination of ports—and they were all so expensive it would have made more sense just to buy a new monitor instead. Most importantly, this adapter works. (The Apple multimedia adapter did not play at all nicely with my monitor, and I had to return it.) Although, I do have two small gripes with this Belkin adapter: 1) it scratches _very_ easily, and 2) the lights from the ethernet port are _very_ bright. The case became scratched the day I received it just from being on my desk; this was disappointing, but ultimately I care more that it works (it lives under my laptop stand and will never be seen anyway). And the lights from the ethernet port are so bright, they illuminate too much of the room when working at night. For this I used some black tape to cover the lights and part of the clear bit of the ethernet plug that was magnifying the light. All in all, I will still rate this product 5 stars for being exactly what I need and for being fully functional. I can pretend the scratches aren’t there if I never have to see them, and I was able to successfully block the obnoxiously bright lights.

This single-purpose adapter may be more reliable than an Ethernet port combined into a multipurpose USB hub. Still, with all such adapters, you may sometimes need to unplug and re-insert the USB hookup. TP-Link also has a USB-C version; I've purchased many of both types.

I'm using this with my older Macbook pro that does not have USB-C or ethernet ports. I just plugged this adapter in my USB-A port and it worked right away. The computer saw it and connected to my network without any issues. This will come in super handy when I need the fastest signal possible. Or if the wireless connection is spotty. I did a speed test with this adapter connected and I was getting over 500 mbps upload and download speeds on my work network connection, which is as fast as I can expect to get. I'm happy with this adapter and it would be hard to beat at this price. This is a very affordable solution if your computer does not have its own ethernet port. I'm using this with my Macbook Air that only has USB-C ports and no ethernet port. This adapter worked right out of the box to give me an ethernet connection. Just plugged the ethernet cable in to the adapter, connected the adapter to the CPU's USB-C port, and my computer connected to my work network flawlessly. The wifi at my work is not great, so this adapter is giving me a fast network connection now through ethernet. I did a speed test and I'm getting approximately 500mbps upload/download speeds with this adapter, which is fantastic. I also appreciate that the adapter has LED indicators. One light shows there is a connection (green). The middle light shows there is power (White/blue). And the 3rd light blinks orange to show there is activity. Having these lights could come in handy if I need to trouble shoot, which is very helpful. The build quality is also really good. This feels like it will last a long time. The cable seems sturdy and the ethernet cable plugs in securely into the adapter's port. Overall, I'm happy with this adapter and it is working very well. Nice little adapter. Works as advertised. If the main ethernet port fails, this is a very useful tool to have to make sure you get your work done on time...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the design of the adapter, it feels well made, it fits easily in my computer case, the inclusion of a ubc-c port next to the ethernet port means you don't lose the ability to plug in external devices or charge, and it's plug-and-play (so no driver download or setup). Being able to charge at the same time is quite an important feature as on many Chromebooks like my sons, it has only one multi-purpose usb-c port, used for charging and external devices. There are a couple of situations that this is/has been VERY useful: -A couple of weeks ago my Dell XPS ultrabook updated and messed up the wifi, none of the normal solutions worked, and when Windows diagnostic suggested plugging into the router via an ethernet cable... well, ultrabooks don't normally have ethernet ports. -As an avid amateur photographer, I create a ton of photos, I save to a couple of hard drives but also to a personal cloud and a cloud service (call me paranoid). Over wifi, transferring 10-20 Gb of data takes ages. With this device, files are transferred in a fraction of the time. To sum up, I love this adapter, I don't need it often, but when I do it's invaluable! -Pros Small, well made, faster internet/data transfer, able to power computer and plug-in internet at the same time, good for internet emergencies, plug and play. -Cons The high gloss black finish attracts finger prints.

Not much to say, it's a USB to Ethernet adapter. Works exactly like you would want it to.
