I do not observe any noise from a fan, if there is one. Works great!

First off... I'm a big fan of audio technica products... My first mic condenser was an at2020 xlr which I love when it comes to quality and price. Then when I've tried this usb at2020 I'm sure that this mic will perform great like the xlr type. Actually when you look at them closely the usb is kinda smoother looking than the xlr (aesthetically)... It has a nice blue light to tell that it's on... It picks up nicely like every mic condenser but in the usb range at2020 wins when it comes to clarity, durability, looks etc. The cons on this mic it has no multi pattern... Only cardioid but still deserves a 5 stars...

no fan noise - it's solid - does the job and works

I have always been a big fan of the AKG small capsule condenser microphones. Sounds amazing for drum overheads or acoustic guitar placed near the nut.

This mic is awesome. I additionally have a Sennheiser MKH416 which has better noise rejection. This Neumann condenser has a preferred frequency response. As a result, this mic is very well suited to live processing with an Apollo x8p or Twin X. I also have a few other mics, but this one is amazing!

Bought this mic to replace a condenser mic that was picking up a lot of background noise. The hyper cardiod pattern on this mic is excellent on rejecting background noise and focusing pickup on my voice. Perfect for podcasting.

I had no reason to get these mics except as a bucket-list thing to experience the best technology has to offer (I'm a gadget nerd). How do they perform and sound from a non-professional layperson's perspective? Better than my ears can do - literally. The very low noise floor, high sensitivity, and frequency response are beyond nature's design for the human ear. These are AMAZING mics to geek out over. They are small condenser mics with large condenser specs! Where I could test the m4's built in mics and find their limits of resolving sound, after months using these mics indoors and even outdoors, these are the last microphones I will ever need until a radical technological development fundamentally changes microphone design, and they should last a lifetime with the quality of the engineering (they even have corrosion-proof gold-plated diaphragms). As a non-professional, all I can say is if one just wants to splurge on mics to get a taste of pure quality, these are overkill for even that. These mics will outspec everything else in the signal chain (the specs are probably way higher than on paper due to an unfortunate misprint that has persistently stuck around (e.g. the max SPL is NOT 120db but more like 135-137, and that figure affects other reported specs)), and current eclectic analog-digital technology is very close to physical limits like thermal noise. The m4 mics are well-enough for me; they are good and suffice for recording most things clearly, the tf5's are incredible, so... they suffice too. That seems to be the bottom line for gear - if it suffices there is no point in overkill. Though, I haven't and probably won't grow tired of the tf5's; and it is wonderful to appreciate and enjoy the funfactor when otherwise they are just tools that suffice at doing their job. When money follows bliss instead of merely blood, sweat, and tears, life and the world become a better place to live. These mics enrich my life, and Rode's mics hit way above pricepoint!

I have a few different microphones for podcast & youtube use. I like to keep both a dynamic and a condenser mic around because I prefer condenser sound but don't always have a super quiet environment to record in, so using a dynamic mic is helpful sometimes for less background/ambient noise that I have to address in post. However, I am simply amazed at this microphone's combination of wonderful condenser sound profile with above-average noise rejection for this type of mic. It still picks up more ambient sound than my dynamic mics of course, but I can record with this relatively close to my laptop and even when the fan kicks on it's hardly noticeable. For reference, where I record I usually can get away with a -60db noise gate for dynamic mics and -51db for condenser. With the LCT 440 I have it set to -55db. Most importantly, the sound from this thing is very impressive for the price point. After testing it with no post processing, I couldn't believe that it was under $300. Just a few mild tweaks and it sounds amazing! Terrific warm and rich tone with the clean & clear highs that I love from condenser mics. That alone is very valuable, because I could plug this into a different interface or switch to a new recording app with no saved settings and have it ready to record in a few minutes. Can't say that for some of my other mics that required quite a bit of tinkering with filters/EQ to get the sound right. Also love that Lewitt included a metal POP filter and foam cover along with a shock mount right in the box. Overall this one is a winner!

The Good thing I found it in this stand, is the on/off switch. You can turn on the condenser microphone silently without any noise. This feature is difficult to find it in any on/off switch in condenser microphone.
