Have a high end refrigerator that is plug in into it, so far so good!

This is hard core studio equipment baby! None of the mamby pamby, sort of kind of, might be ok fluff that passes as prosumer, this is the real deal! Made of steel, strong as an Ox and ready for anything you care to throw at it. The boom is adjustable in length, as well as the balance point. Includes a hook on the end for a counter-weight. I recommend you get a 10lb clamp-on weight from Manfrotto, but that is your choice. You will need some sort of counter-weight to balance the boom. A sturdy, wheeled light-stand is also a must. You can vary the length of the boom as well as the balance point with just a twist of a knob. A serious piece of kit for studio photographers.

I have two of these. One mounted to a C-Stand and one to a counter. Both holding LED panels in my home studio. The grip is strong as well as the integrated stud. Just buy it!

Even better than promised. Will try hooking it to my refrigerator.

Strong enough to hold up a refrigerator, I think. Fits perfectly, of course.

I use in studio for forcing a shallow depth of field - optical performance is faultless.

This is the only way to get shallow depth of field when working in confined spaces with studio strobes - when you're shooting as fast as your sync will let you and your ISO is as low as it'll go. Also great for middle of the day shooting when you want to get motion in moving water shots and there's too much light. As far as I can tell any image deterioration is negligible and certainly better than not getting the shot or spending time fixing it in post.
