I had a Canon scanner since 2000--but it finally died...This one, similar to the old LiDE I had, is easy to sue--but smoother and more intuitive. LOVE it! 5 |

I use a scanner for home use. I got this to replace an old canon "LIDE 50" that has served me well over the years but recently died . So I got a LIDE 300.. I could not be happier with it II scans fast . Color photos are scanned accurately.. Be sure to use the Scan utility "IJ Scan Utility" that is installed during set up. It's great and stupid simple to use. By default, the scanner's buttons are set up for black and white documents . For home use, the LIDE 300 is all you need. BTW, I'm using it on Windows 7 5 |

Affordable scanners are hard to find these days. Canoscan Lide 400 is one of a very few options from major brands. I previously used an older Canoscan model and liked it a lot, but it’s no longer supported by the new MacOS. I wanted another Canon. The Lide 400 has performed flawlessly for me. It has all the functions that I need: scanning to multiple file formats at multiple resolutions. On the Mac you don’t even need to download the Canon driver or utility software. MacOS recognizes this scanner when you add a scanner. Then you can use the native MacOS Image Capture utility to do basic scanning. The scanner has a USB C port. The included cable is USB C to USB A. It works just fine. But I use my own USB C to C cable and the file transfer to my Mac is faster. All in all, I am very happy with the purchase and the experience with B&H as usual. 5 |

I purchased the scanner in early February, 2021. My wife and I use the LIDE 400 to scan photos and make copies of financial documents. Installation was quick and easy. Operation is straightforward. The software user-interface is intuitive, and -- for many applications -- it is possible to simply use the buttons on the front of the scanner. Given its low price, I was skeptical that the performance of the LIDE 400 would be satisfactory, but decided to take a chance. Glad I did. 5 |

I owned an earlier version of this scanner and this one (LiDE 400) works just as well or better. I can easily make PDFs out of book pages, which was my primary reason for buying the scanner. Image quality is fine for my purposes. It also does OCR on scanned images. Excellent product and very easy to use (once you've downloaded the software). 5 |

I'm an artist and this is my first scanner. I was originally going to get the LiDE 400, which I believe has double the optical resolution of the 300, but I was tempted by the lower price of this model. I worried that I may have made a rash decision, but so far this scanner has performed remarkably. The image quality is great, it scans pretty quickly at 300 dpi, and it's compact enough to store easily. Sometimes when I scan a drawing the warm colors are shifted slightly into the cooler range, but it's easy to correct. Besides that, I couldn't be happier with this scanner! 5 |

This is my second Lide scanner. The first lasted some 10 years. Since it's LED based, it has virtually no warm-up time and does not need a separate power supply, drawing power instead from the USB port. I can see no difference in quality between the scans from this scanner and traditional ones (I used an Epson scanner between my last Lide and this one). It's light and easily transportable to other locations if needed. 5 |

The CanoScan Lide 400 scanner is a great value (money-wise) as well as delivering a quality and clear result every single time. This scanner has the ability to option multiple pages; gives clear and concise prompts on how to do so. There are no codes to input or complicated instructions; simply load the scans facing down with the top of the scan toward the front of the scanner instead of the back of the scanner. Easy-peasy. Thanks for the easiest scanner I have ever encountered. 5 |

I have a Mac OS 10.13.6. The LiDE 400 just works great for Photos. I downloaded the driver from Canon. From there it was put a Pic in and click auto scan. The Pic comes up in Pictures folder in Preview. Go to File and click Share - go to add to iPhoto. There you can Edit the Pic the way you want or just print it. If you have any problems just reboot the Mac and scanner to fix. Oh yea..don't forget to click the switch on the bottom of the Scanner and in System Preferences to hit the plus icon in Printers and Scanners to add scanner..... 5 |

Ink sits really well on top. I’ve tested many papers and I always come back to the Rag 210. I’ve been printing on a Canon 2100, and the profile install from the canson website was really easy. 5 |
