Lightning Bolt Cable Splitter

Some might say I'm slow to react--but I don't think I am--except where lightning is concerned. Without a detector, I miss the bolt every time. Not with this little guy, however. I've only had one chance to try it out and it grabbed a bolt I didn't even see. If you want to shoot lightning, this is an easy choice.

This thing is just extraordinary! The first major photo I took with this lens was a bolt of lightning that hit near by. It totally distorted the plasma bolts. WOW! A lens of this type has it's applications for sure. Yet when it does it, it does it really really well... Money well spent.

Some significant improvements over the standard plastic D-Tap splitter: - The metal housing makes it harder to insert a plug backwards, which may damage your device. Yes, it can be a tighter fit for some 3rd party D-Tap plugs that have looser manufacturing tolerances. The upside is that the plug will not fall out easily. - The braided cable with connector boots reduce cable stress and fraying. - One of the ports is regulated at 12v, which allow for certain accessories that only accept this fixed voltage (thinking of Sony's USB 3.1 AXS card reader). - The blue power indicator LED also helps prevent reverse connection problems if the splitter is plugged in to a power source the wrong way. -Threaded 1/4-20 hole on the bottom can be used to attach a QR plate. An ideal product for film technicians. Recommended.

The B&H rep recommend that I use this splitter for a subwoofer cable connection and my system now works beautifully.

There isn't much you can say about a cable splitter - the gold contacts are a nice touch and it works.
