This headphone splitter does the job. It is only a few dollars but it does what it needs to. Easy to use.

Using it for a TV without a headphone jack or volume control using a RCA cable Y-adapter. Works well. No complaints.

As many of you know, the a6300 lacks a headphone jack. This cable does the trick by splitting the microphone jack into headphone and microphone, and works remarkably well. The only thing you should remember is that the recording device need to be self powered, otherwise this trick will not work.

I use this cable to take the output from the headphone jack of my computer to the XLR inputs of my interface. The cable and connectors are very good quality, and the cable splits in the middle, which is much more preferable than a cable that splits right at the mini plug connector. And the splitter is molded and rugged which will prevent cable strain from damaging the cable. But remember, since the cable splits in the middle, the reach of each XLR is approx. 50% of the cable length. So if your monitors are, say, 10 feet apart, you need to order at least a 10 foot cable.

Use this for PowerPoint presentations at conferences. Computer headphone jack out to the Whirlwind, plus a Y cable XLR that mono-sums everything, then into the Mackie.

I was looking to send audio from the 3.5mm headphone jack on my Mac to the 3.5mm mic jack on my cell phone, because I had a professionally recorded voicemail message I wanted to use but my service provider only allowed live recorded messages. (I wasnt just going to hold my phone up to the speaker on my Mac, because it would ruin the quality.) I had a male-to-male 3.5mm cable I tried to use, with no luck. I was confused as to why it didnt work. I couldnt figure out how to do it and went to a few nearby stores looking for advice, but every sales person just looked at me with a confused look and had no idea how to help. Luckily I noticed B&H was around the corner from a job interview I had. Ive always wanted to go there, just never got around to it until that day, and boy am I glad I did. I spoke to a gentleman in the Pro Audio Dept and after about 10-15 minutes of carefully listening to my needs, and taking the time to understand what I wanted/needed he informed me I needed an attenuating cable because the voltage coming out of the headphone jack would have destroyed the mic jack on my phone. I was finally on my way, but then just as I was about the thank him for his help he exclaimed WAIT!! and informed me that the two jacks were configured differently, (the headphone jack was TRS, and the mic was TRRS) and I would have no luck with just the attenuating cable so he pulled up this item on his screen explained it would convert the connector to what I needed and sent the whole order to pick up. I purchased and picked up the two cables and excitedly went home to test out the items. They worked!!! tl;dr This item was exactly what I needed, and it did its job perfectly.

Using a nuc to play movies. Have a sound cable running from the headphone jack to a JBL audio amplifier driving 8 speakers in an office. After a couple years it started getting static noises. Put this in between and all is good. Been fighting it for a couple months. If I disconnected the nic cable from the nuc most of the noise went away for a short time. Now no problems at all.
