Some significant improvements over the standard plastic D-Tap splitter: - The metal housing makes it harder to insert a plug backwards, which may damage your device. Yes, it can be a tighter fit for some 3rd party D-Tap plugs that have looser manufacturing tolerances. The upside is that the plug will not fall out easily. - The braided cable with connector boots reduce cable stress and fraying. - One of the ports is regulated at 12v, which allow for certain accessories that only accept this fixed voltage (thinking of Sony's USB 3.1 AXS card reader). - The blue power indicator LED also helps prevent reverse connection problems if the splitter is plugged in to a power source the wrong way. -Threaded 1/4-20 hole on the bottom can be used to attach a QR plate. An ideal product for film technicians. Recommended. 5 |
