Linux Print Zebra Thermal Printer Network

2024-05-13 06:30:50

As a Linux (Ubuntu) user, this printer worked from the moment I plugged it in and added to the network. Not the case with our older HP. Could flip a coin if I needed to re-add/configure it at each use. Setting it up with a static IP on Wifi was simple to do on the device. Once connected, all other settings were managed via browser. While I cannot comment on the longevity of the device or toner, the printouts are outstanding. My wife, who is a teacher, uses it far more than I do and since installing it, not once have I had to touch a thing. I will admit, I chose Brother solely on the advice of other Linux users and so glad I did.

These print well in my Casio CW-50 Thermal Printer and I don't ever recall having a bad burn with one of them. Although they are rated at 16x, I usually burn at 8x and have never had a problem.

I love this printer. Right selection of media to choose from and no ink to replenish (Thermal) you can print using the app for your phone or a USB cable to print from your computer. Compact and easy to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been very happy with the HP LaserJet 4201dw printer. Right out of the box the setup was super easy and connected to my WiFi network with no issues. I love the fact of how fast it can print in both color or black and white, which makes larger printing jobs a breeze. Printing over our network as also been very stable and the app is easy to use from our tablets. The only printing function I have not used is the USB plug, but it is nice knowing that I do have that option. The paper tray hold a lot and so does the multi paper tray as well. The printer seems to do everything and can even print on envelopes which will make Christmas cards super easy this year. Overall I have been very happy with the quality of the prints, speed and how easy it has been to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'll start off by saying that this printer/scanner is perfect for the home office and what great you can print directly from your phone no computer needed, I will have to say that printing from your phone has some constraints also, the speed at which the document is sent may be stymied by your wifi network speed. I printed a 76 page user manual from my android phone through my wifi network every page had a 2 second pause on average probably because my network speed, and other things using bandwidth in my house. I scanned to print the test page it did show some degradation in details. Overall I would recommend this printer for a small home office / college situation.

Upon opening the box, the contents were neatly placed and all items were present. The printer was light enough that you could handle it with one hand if necessary. The instructions for setup were clear and easy to understand. There were diagrams that were very helpful as well. Set up didn’t take long at all. There is a 2 piece power cord that charges the battery while the printer is in use. There is a software installation CD included, but it was not necessary for me. Ink cartridge installation was easy. There are both black and color ink cartridges included. The printer is very compact – a bit smaller than a gaming console. Wi-Fi setup to my home network was simple as well. A network scan for the name, entered the password and was I ready to print. There is a mobile printing feature that allows you to print from your mobile device. This is a very good feature since I do a lot of business on my phone and sometimes need to print things. Initial printing was done from an iPhone. I also printed items from an android device, as well as my Windows computer. The printer shows up as long as connected to the same network. Printing times were the same. Text documents printed very quickly using black ink. When printing the same text document using color ink, it took slightly more time, but still relatively quick. When printing photos, it took about a minute, but that is to be expected and is understandable. Although I didn’t print a black and white photo, I would assume that it would take less time than color. When using battery power, after about 2 minutes of inactivity, the printer goes into sleep mode and after a total of about 5 minutes, it shuts off to preserve the battery. It’s small and portable, which is good for travel, if needed. All in all, this is a very nice printer to have. This is a review for the Epson WorkForce WF-110 Wireless Inkjet Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do a moderate amount of printing at home, as I use a printer for both personal things and to help run a home-based online business. It was pretty easy to set up and connect to my lap top and home network. The color and print quality is great. Not the speediest printer I have seen, but for my home business needs it works just fine. The printer size is good for my needs you get a lot of functionality in a relatively small footprint. Although I don`t frequently use the multi-function capability, it can print, copy, scan, and even FAX (although I rarely FAX and don`t even have a landline phone!). Most of what I do is printing, and it does that very well!I`ve had inkjet printers for years, and although they were inexpensive to buy and the printing was decent, I got tired of having to buy new ink cartridges all the time. I haven`t had this one long enough to tell for sure but I think with this HP laser jet the toner will last much longer, and the printing looks better too! Really nice print quality with great colors. It says it can also print wirelessly from a mobile device, and I have not tried that yet (don`t really need to), but that is a great feature if you need it. It also has some built-in security features that I appreciate, because my friend had her home network hacked through her wireless printer, so it makes me feel good that HP is building in encryption and password protection I would not have realized those were needed until recently, but it`s great to have those.I don`t see a lot of downside to this printer, unless you need a larger, more heavy duty machine for heavy business use, and even then, this does pretty much everything most people need at a really affordable price. I`d recommend it for sure.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right out of the box the 4201dn seemed like a great product. It was packaged very well and had a quick start guide as the first thing you found in the box. The printer is comparatively large, but the advertised dimensions were correct so it fit perfectly in the space I had allocated. Setup was extremely fast and easy, including the hard wired connection to a WiFi network to allow multiple users to print from anywhere on the same network. The printer is pretty quiet and prints very quickly in B&W as well as the ability to print on both sides which I did not have previously. Overall this seems to be a good value and solid printer for an office or home office setup.

Exactly what I needed to be able to print at home after we changed the home network over to new equipment (and until I have time to reconfigure the wireless capability of the printer to the new network). I don't see a lot of devices with the USB-B connector anymore, but I'm glad B&H had this one! Works like a charm, and our PCs and Mac laptops both had no trouble connecting to the printer with it. One minor issue - the photo for this product does not look like 10' of cable, but mine is a full 10' - gives you a lot of flexibility to locate the printer where it makes sense.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Canon imageCLASS D1650 is literally the best laser printer I have used to date, and for me, that’s saying a lot! I have been in the tech sector for right at a quarter century now and have used many laser printers from several manufacturers and the D1650 is super fast and has all the features I’d expect in an “All-in-one”! To start the printer the printer was easy to setup as a wireless network printer on my network and then to add to all of my Windows 11 and android devices. The print jobs run with little to no lag, no matter the size or document type. Pages print fast and duplexing works flawlessly regardless of mode. The drawer has a huge paper capacity that can also be expanded as needs arise. The one pass scan where it scans BOTH sides of a document is just awesome! The first time I used it I was in essence wonder where has this been all my life! The huge touch screen means no more squinting to see what you are doing at the printer unlike other all-in-one’s where the screen just gets smaller and smaller each iteration! To me the D1650 is an awesome printer and as I said, in 25 years of tech service this to me is THE BEST laser printer I have ever used! I do not say that lightly!
