Proper underwater photography isn't easy. On land, the gear is very heavy and large. Consider the camera. A DSLR in a professional housing is easily more than a foot wide and 8 inches tall. Each lens also has its own port which ranges from 4 to 8 inches in diameter. Add to this the strobes, which are the size of a studio strobe, and you need at least two of them. Now, all this stuff has to fit into a bag that is portable. The best underwater photography in the world is often in remote places. Think Borneo, Sulawesi, Dauin, and Papua New Guinea. Not easy places to get to. You often have to be able to move the gear into and off of small boats, tricycles, truck beds, and other Asian transportation inventions. This bag has proven to be very adept at transporting my photo gear around the world. It's taken knocks, drops, and some minor spray with aplomb. 5 |
