Logitech Z906 Surround Speakers Setup
anyonymous | 2024-04-19 04:42:48 |
I am using these as replacement speakers for my PC Z906 5.1 surround system, specifically for music from my turntable which is attached to my subwoofer/amplifier. I'm using another brand for my center speaker. 5 |

I bought the Z906 to replace my aging Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 system with a failing amp. I loved the Klipsch speakers, but sadly Klipsch (and seemingly everyone else other than Logitech) has stopped making 5.1 multimedia systems. Thankfully Logitech makes a pretty good unit. The real draw to something like this, in my opinion, is if you want a relatively compact, reasonably-priced, good-sounding setup that you can easily plug a computer into. I've used this sort of setup in my living room with great results, and at a fraction of the cost of buying separate components. Since my computer has pretty solid sound-processing capability, I don't have the need for all the extra features of a stand-alone receiver. The Logitech Z906 packs quite a punch and sounds almost as good as the Klipsch in most situations. Pluses for the Z906 are it's built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoding (for things like an XBox) and its included remote control. True, it doesn't handle the Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD soundtracks on Blu-Ray discs, but my computer does, and so the analog pass-through from the PC into the Z906 makes this unnecessary in my case anyway. The Z906 seems solidly built, and is easy to install with its standard speaker mount points and spring-lock speaker wire connectors. One very minor quibble is that the power cable is permanently attached to the sub (the Klipsch used a detachable C14 computer-style plug). Overall, I'm very happy with the Z906. 5 |

I own a video production company and have 28 employees. I have six editors that use Mac Pro's, all the Mac's use fiber optic from the Mac sound card to a windows PC running Creative X-Fi Elite Pro THX Certified sound cards. All the editing bays have this setup and use Creative GigaWorks S750, 7.1, THX Certified, 750 watt speaker systems. The Logitech Z906, 5.1, THX Certified, 500 watt speaker system is replacing one of the Creative S750 speaker systems that was 12 years old. Logitech appears to be the only company that offers a high wattage, 5.1, THX Certified Speaker System, no one that I can find carries a 7.1, THX Certified, high wattage sound system. The sound quality of the Logitech Z906, 5.1, THX Certified, 500 watt speaker system is outstanding. The signal-to-noise level is perfect for clean audio sound. We use Final Cut Pro 10 and Avid Media Composer 7 editing software and even when we add LFE (Low Frequency Effects) we get no distortion, the speakers are small enough to not waste a lot of space on the editing board. For the user/pro that wants a quality sound system and has the sound card that will facilitate the Z906 speaker system then the Logitech Z906 is the sound you are looking for. 5 |

Currently have two Era 300 setup as surround speakers with Arc and Sub gen 3. Main uses is for home cinema which they are excellent for. The Atmospheric effects created by the added speakers enhances Dolby Atmos. Spatial music from Apple Music sounds great as if you're in the same room as the artist. 5 |

I've been using these speakers for about a month, and they've been excellent. Setup takes a few minutes, but once done, your surround sound is set up for the exact space you have and where people are sitting. If I had to point out a flaw, I'd say perhaps the soundbar's automatically powering off when the TV is turned off can be a bit of a pain, but even then, it's not really that bad. Setup is easy, use is easy, troubleshooting hasn't needed to happen as of yet, so I can't speak to that. Overall, definitely worth the time and money! 5 |

I first setup my Arc with no surrounds. The sound was very good but was missing something. I decided to try and connect my 2 Sonos One speakers as surround speakers. I know this is an expensive setup and potentially a waste to have the One's setup for just surround but the sound was amazing. Experiencing a movie is like having high quality headphones on. The experience is totally different with the surrounds. Also my wife has a bunch of vases and decorations in front of the Arc. It severely impacts sound quality and i need to move them if i want high quality sound. 5 |

We already owned the Soundbar 300, bass module and the virtually invisible surround speakers, so when we remodelled and wanted an additional system for our living room, we knew where to start. We were not disappointed! The sound from these TINY, beautfiul speakers is truly awesome - easy to setup and very discreet with the accessory mounts for the ceiling! They add real depth to watching movies, but also when playing music ensure the entire room is filled with tunes. Using the adaptiq setup was a breeze too. My only issue is that the Google Assistant which, while it works very well, seems to think I am hard of hearing as he shouts at me when replying - resulting in a distorted retort also but this is a soundbar issue and not related to the surround speakers. 5 |

I have the Roku Sound Bar,Sub, and the surround sound speakers, I have owned several different surround sound systems in the past, from high end to low end systems, This Roku setup is the best that I have ever had, the sound reproduction is great, the bass is thunderous and adds to much to the sound, the rear speakers will pull you right into the action on the screen, and to top off the great setup, it’s all wireless, no more hiding wires under throw rugs, just plug the speakers into power, pop some popcorn and turn on your favorite movie and be ready to be amazed. 5 |

I will continue to buy these speakers and connect them as a surround sound setup. Extremely happy with the money I spent. Thank you Marshall!!! 5 |
