Long File Cabinet

I have used Print File for years and have found them reliable, long lived and protect incredibly well.

Due to some very long super telephoto primes and zooms, I took out the shelves in the bottom cabinet so the long lens could stand up in it. Then I put my other camera gear in the upper cabinet. All fits with some room to spare. Since I live in a desert region, the main reason I got it was for dust control, however, it is keeping things dry at about 30% humidity despite the room humidity of about 45-50% humidity because of our swamp cooler.

Not sure what took me so long, but this is one of those genius improvements to your workspace. Once I screwed this on the side of a cabinet (out of view) in my office, the horrible mess of cables magically disappeared and I can now easily retrieve cables with various USB and HDMI permutations, let alone the Apple cables. Highly recommended for any home office.

These file folders can be written on in soft pencil, erased and reused. I like the long, full tab because it gives me a great advantage in organizing subject matter. I writing a very general subject on the left, a more specific subject in the middle, and a particular topic on the right. Naturally, these subjects are thought through in advance. It makes organization very simple, straight-forward, almost intuitive. You can't do that with small tabs!

Very handy for sharing or backups. Fits USB slot well and does not take long for file transfers.

Clear File is the brand of film sleeve I have always preferred. Over long spans of time they do not perceptibly change, which is the entire point. After may years of storage I can expect a negative strip to just slide cleanly out and go back in as easy. Vital when working under a time constraint in a rented darkroom. For whatever reason they do not attract dust or build up static charge. So they go back into the files as clean as they came out. Use these, others out-gas, shed oils, and dry out over time. These won't.

Ive been using WD Drives for a very long time, I decided to try this one and use it for backing up large files. At this price you can buy an extra, just in case your backup fails. Someone told me years ago that if your file does not exist in Three places, then your file does not exist! Not a bad way to think about your files if you asked me?

Print File materials are the best, have been using them for a long time. Reasonable price, top quality, no complaints!!

We file our negatives for long periods of time and have found the easiest way to do so is with these sleeves. The only suggestion would be to have a white tab at the top for writing photo information, but for the price, we have improvised!
