Lowepro Format Backpack 150 Camera Bag Review
Christian | 2024-09-28 08:45:20 |
My first camera bag was the Lowepro Fastpack 350 (discontinued now as far as I know). Don't get me wrong; it was a good backpack, but it was way too big and bulky for what I needed. This backpack is the perfect size for what I currently carry when I take pictures. Obviously, opinions will differ based on what what each photographer/ videographer carries with them, but I would highly suggest this. Many people think they need to carry more than they actually need. I currently carry my Nikon D7200, a 50mm lens, a 35mm lens, a speedlight, and some other small things. I still have enough space to carry a water bottle with me if I wanted to. 5 |

Just spent a month travelling with the Lowepro slingbag, which i loved, but found lacking in padding and storage pockets, with or without zips. i then bought a Think tank sling, which i also love but it compresses my spine (i have a disc problem) and its more backpack than cross body bag. Its perfect for my daughters smaller canon and her hiking stuff though! So i looked for something similar to the Lowepro, and took a chance on this. its awesome! was going to get the larger one, i checked out the videos, but for a 5'6 woman, this is plenty big enough, fits my canon 700D, a macro, a 300mm lens, flash, my purse, ipad and phone!! not that i carry all that all the time! basically, its a camera bag i can use as my day bag when travelling, or where ever i take my camera, the other was a day bag i could take my camera in. i like the flat bottom, its not too heavy, the backpack strap, which i would use while hiking, can be converted, im left handed so thats important. i like the velcro that can be hidden, the top loader zips, the front pocket is very deceiving, fits far more than you'd think. the strap is comfortable, and the padded part stays where you put it, unlike my last bag, and i love the quick adjusting clasp on the main strap. no loose ends either when you shorten them. The hand strap doubles as a suitcase strap when using as carry on, havent tried it but its great, really missed that last trip. the rain cover is good, but im still wondering why they dont just use waterproof material!! The bag is really nice looking too, i couldnt be happier with it, and the fast service from B&h is brilliant, also the reviews. thats why im leaving this one, ive bought three bags, a flash, and a tripod plus some small stuff based on the reviews on the site, and i am really happy with all of it, cheers 5 |

I've used a LowePro backpack camera bag for many years. I love the ability to customize the inside to meet my needs for any given occasion. Recently, due to a rotator cuff injury, I can no longer carry the bag on my shoulders. Looking for an alternative, I stumbled across this model with wheels!!! It's perfect. The size is similar to my old bag and fits everything I need to take with me. Being able to wheel it around makes it even better. If I were to make any suggestions for improvement, it would be to make the handle a bit more sturdy. Only time will tell how well it holds up after continued use. So far, though... no problems whatsoever. 5 |

I purchased the Lowepro ProTactic 350 backpack as a day bag. Pack the camera, a couple of lenses, and hit the road. I thought it was a good plan. However, I just did a complete swap from a Canon EF system to a Canon RF mirrorless system. The RF lenses are larger than the EF lenses. The camera is now both photos and movies, requiring more support, and in my case, a SmallRig Cage. The RF camera is now too large for the trap door on the top of the Lowepro ProTactic 350 backpack. The lenses fit, but you have to gut the backpack and redesign the partitions. After you've done that, there is very little room left for filters, microphones, spare batteries, and other support items. Out of curiosity, I took the RF mirrorless equipment out and inserted my old EF DSLR, and it fit great! This is a good size for an EF DSLR day bag, but it is not suitable for an RF system. I am switching to the larger Lowepro ProTactic 450 backpack (my second 450), known to be a good fit. I'm still giving the bag a solid rating because the product description states DSLR, and for that, it's well suited. 5 |

My Backpack was delivered as promised. It is, actually better than expected. Only time will tell how well it holds up. I outgrew my Lowepro shoulder bag and this backpack holds everything with room for more, with better access. My Lowepro bag is over 35 yrs old, we'll have to wait and see on this USA Gear backpack. Good value purchase and am well pleased! 5 |

The Lowepro Flipside 400 AW III is the right bag for a large lens. The Sigma 150 - 600mm F5 - 6.3 DG Contemporary will fit in this bag mounted to your camera body. The bag can be rearranged internally for different equipment, with many extra pockets for accessories and pads or laptops. 5 |

I'm always on the quest for the perfect backpack (as I'm sure lots of others are), and while I know there isn't a perfect backpack for every situation, this one is great for most. I've bought/used/sold many backpacks, slings, messengers - but this one is a keeper. I just used this for a weekend roadtrip to an airshow and it worked perfectly. Fit my D500 + 150-600mm lens attached on one side, and my 11-20mm f/2.8 & 50-100mm f/1.8 on the other side. During the airshow when I had the camera body & 150-600mm w/hood out, I could shape-shift the bag to minimize the depth when wandering thru crowds. I wore the bag for many hours, and it was very comfortable even with everything inside. Side pocket for water bottle comes in handy when needed, and great that I can remove when I don't. One thing this bag isn't great for is being able to access/change lenses, etc. without putting the bag down. Thankfully, I also have a Mindshift Gear Backlight 26L which I use for backpacking or when I need to carry even more stuff (speedlights, etc.). This bag replaces a Peak Design Everyday Backpack 20L - which is a great bag with side access from both sides (and also looks great), but isn't as comfortable and doesn't minimize depth like this Shape Shifter does. I went back and forth between getting the Shape Shifter 15 v2.0 vs. 17 2.0, but this 15 is plenty big for my needs now. I guess if/when I decide to go to multiple camera bodies for events, I will have to buy the 17 as well... 5 |

Recently I needed a backpack that would house my Fuji Medium Format 50R and two lenses. The criteria for me, was it had to be lightweight, user friendly and comfortable to wear. I particularly wanted this camera for a specific trip so I had to make it work. I have many camera bags already but nothing was right for this trip. I read reviews about this bag and thought I would give it a try. I should clarify that I am a senior citizen so all the more reason for comfort snd ability to carry for 2-4 hours. When I loaded the bag and lifted it, I was skeptical but once it was on my back I couldn't believe how great it felt! The style and placement of the handles are not only well made but practical. 5 |

I replaced a 15 year old Lowepro with this backpack and cannot believe the difference in comfort level. I am a 5’3” female and this backpack is perfect for me. I have a full frame SLR and carry three lenses - 24-105, 70-200, 14mm fixed plus extra batteries, cards, laptop, tripod and other odds and ends. The thing is HEAVY when full but when I strap it on, I barely feel the weight. Wow, what a difference between this and my old bag. So happy I got this bag. It tucks away under airline seats as well (without the tripod, obviously). Love this bag. I’ve tried several other bags and sent them back or sold them. 5 |

It's a pretty small backpack, but I'm starting to really like it over some of my more expensive bags. I have the basic Canon bag and a Lowepro backpack and I think I'll probably be using this one the most. It doesn't have a slot for a laptop like the Lowepro, but does come with a place for a tablet. I don't have a tablet, so I don't know how well it would work for that. I like that you can rearrange the dividers to accomadate your gear like attaching a long telephoto lens to the camera and still have a place to put your mic, wide angle and basic lens in the bag too. It also has a rain cover that stows away in the bottom of the bag and can be wrapped around the bag when it rains. 5 |
