Lowepro Protactic Urban Camera Backpacks

I purchased the Lowepro ProTactic 350 backpack as a day bag. Pack the camera, a couple of lenses, and hit the road. I thought it was a good plan. However, I just did a complete swap from a Canon EF system to a Canon RF mirrorless system. The RF lenses are larger than the EF lenses. The camera is now both photos and movies, requiring more support, and in my case, a SmallRig Cage. The RF camera is now too large for the trap door on the top of the Lowepro ProTactic 350 backpack. The lenses fit, but you have to gut the backpack and redesign the partitions. After you've done that, there is very little room left for filters, microphones, spare batteries, and other support items. Out of curiosity, I took the RF mirrorless equipment out and inserted my old EF DSLR, and it fit great! This is a good size for an EF DSLR day bag, but it is not suitable for an RF system. I am switching to the larger Lowepro ProTactic 450 backpack (my second 450), known to be a good fit. I'm still giving the bag a solid rating because the product description states DSLR, and for that, it's well suited.

I had a Lowepro protactic 450 AW, but sometimes I need something more practical, just to carry my camera and another lens. So, this is perfect! And it comes with enough space to carry more things like your wallet, keys or something else. It is a must-buy if you need practicality in a small package.

My favorite camera backpacks are lowepro pro tactics, but sadly I outgrew mine with the purchase of a proper cinema camera. I wish there was a bit more depth to the bag, my Sony fx6 top handle gets a bit crushed as a result of the tall design. Additionally, I wish there were some lashing points on this backpack for clipping various items to the bag with carabiners in a pinch. The doctor bag design is great, and I often use it as a stand alone duffel as a result.

I have more camera backpacks and cases than I would like to admit. In general, I prefer Lowepro but this one just seemed perfect for me. The split compartments is idea. I put my Nikon camera and lenses on one side and my Sony on the other. It has more storage than one thinks and it is all easily accessible when you lay it on it's back. The material is light but strong. The zippers are great. The two handles are strong and comfortable. If you are just carrying the pack to a location you can pack the shoulder straps out of the way. (The waste belt must be removed.) Camera packs are personal but this one is perfect for me. I recommend it.

The Lowepro ProTactic Phone Pouch is a snug fit for my iPhone 13 PRO MAX. This phone fits, but just barely. Anything larger would not allow the zipper(s) to close. Design and construction is excellent with good padding for shock protection and a smooth, soft lining. The pouch can be attached to up to a 2.5 inch belt using either the vertical or horizontal attachment double hook & loop straps. I use the vertical attachment mode while mountain biking and it seems safe and secure enough (so far), The pouch front face includes a single 2.25 inch width molle strap. I can't imagine ever needing this, but I suppose you could use it to attach a badge, another phone pouch or a another very small, light storage pouch. Some reviewers have complained that this small pouch is too expensive for its size, but considering the quality of the workmanship and the rugged materials provided, I think it's fairly priced. It does exactly what it's designed to do well, no more and no less.

I've had the Lowepro Protactic bp 450 aw ii for a while now, but, while it fit all of my gear, it was uncomfortable when heavy. And, it was heavy without much gear in it. Also, there was no room for non-camera related gear. The Action x50 solves both of those problems. It is bigger, but lighter when empty. It has room for everything that I need, with room to expand! I wore it fully loaded the other day for several hours with absolutely no discomfort. I also like that it is very weather resistant. It may be a bit big for people with smaller frames, but fits me nicely. Highly recommend.

I already have lots of Lowepro equipment dating back decades and it is all still in great condition. Amongst this gear is a ProTactic TLZ 70 AW that I had recently bought . It has the same quality that I always expect with LowePro. My valuable gear is worth the best protection and design.

ProTactic Phone Pouch fits my older LowePro harness well and holds my larger android phone.
