generally use it to mic the top of a snare drum with no worries of it being hit by a drumstick 5 |

Yes, it sounds amazing. The snare is not the 808 snare, but you can get some really cool sounds out of it, especially with the stutter. I usually layer it with the clap, which you can tune via PCM, and it sounds outstanding, so I am not modding it. Don't get bogged down in snaresville, this thing has a huge kick drum, stutter feature, amazing step jumping, a ribbon controller, it syncs to your DAW's external clock, and it has live motion and stutter recording. Believe me when I say it's worth every penny, even if you end up using a different drum machine, this thing is a mini beast and so fun! 5 |

Not too much to say about, you just can go wrong with the industry standard. I got this to upgrade my old AKG D22 to use with my snare drum in my home studio 5 |

i use this Pyle PDMIC78 microphone for home recording on guitar amps, snare drum and vocals. very sturdy construction and very easy to get a great sound from it. the only thing i didn't like was the XLR to 1/4cable that comes with it. sounds much better with a XLR-XLR low impedance cable. i can't believe the low price! it is impossible to go wrong with this purchase and B&H shipped it to me lightning fast Thanks! 5 |

I use this to run my mics from drum kit in the studio. Kick, Snare Top, Snare Bottom or Hi Hat, three toms and a pair of over heads. Really tidied things up. Seems solid enough, can't beat the price. 5 |

Used this for a drum recording session. The snare tracks came out great with A LOT less of the hi-hat and other drum sounds in the mix. I had to set this up quickly, I would suggest working with it a bit before a recording session to make sure you are comfortable with positioning etc. 5 |

I have tried all matter of compact electronic drum. This is hands down the best. If you want more of a sampler, get the SPD-S. If you want a reliable, gig ready, mini-drum set with realistic sounds, get this. Yes, there are many cheaper options out there. But, if you're a serious musician, you get what you pay for. You can augment this pad in a plethora of ways. I use Wavedrum for my snare when playing live. I have used and acoustic snare and hi-hat in the past. I always use the KD-7 trigger for my kick sounds. Basically, you're someone who plays out often or you just want the best sounding pad on the market, I would highly recommend the SPD-30. Don't waste the hours of research I did checking out other options. Get the Octopad. 5 |
