The 4MM lens gives a better view than the 8MM. I'm using the Arecont Vision AV20275DL to get a 180 view of areas of a park. The smaller lens gives up distance for a better wider viewing angle. I've tested the 2.8, 4, 6 and 8mm, the 4mm seems to be the sweet spot. These are OEM lenses and worked perfectly as a substitution for the 8MM. 5 |

Recent 8mm films like Vision 3 lack the classic grain although the result still looks unique enough however my preferance for 8MM is still B&W which this film is almost perfect for the purpose. Specially when combined with good cameras like Canon 514 814 and 1014. 5 |

I was looking for a specialty macro lens that would let me capture full-frame shots of Super 8 and 8mm movie film. This was exactly what I was looking for. Set to 4x, it is slightly larger than the Super 8 frame and you can adjust it to as much as 4.5x if you want to crop it. Im using the A6500 with an APS-C sensor; this will be too much zoom on a full frame camera. 5 |

I recently found my grandfather old Kodak brownie 8mm movie camera. i thought it was long gone years ago, since all i was giving was his super 8mm some 25yrs ago. im glad i can still get film. im just about to place an order for 2 rolls. quick question, would i need to attach a filter to the lens, or just set the correct meter dail settings if shooting in day light? 5 |
