Lumix Waterproof Camera Manual

2024-05-24 08:53:10

I have a Lumix GX85 and am getting much more use out of this lens than I expected. A better buy for me than spending $800 on the Lumix automatic (AE & AF) fisheye. Took a bit to get used to the manual lens, but it's generally quite easy. (Set the camera to P mode, turn the aperture ring and the camera selects the shutter speed. Or use M mode for completely manual settings.) As many other reviewers point out, the focus ring is a bit stiff. I like this, because for any subject that is more than 2-3 feet away you want the focus on infinity, so the focus ring is stiff enough that it won't turn accidentally. Lens is reliable and the build is solid.

I use it to power a Lumix BGH1 camera.

Used this with a Nikon 50mm F1.8 and Lumix GX85. Shot some video and photos. Manual focusing wasn't an issue. The focus highlighting helped a lot. Great bokeh and very sharp. Will try this with other lenses in the coming weeks. Very well built.

I started on my video journey in Canon land, then when I realized how handcuffed their mirrorless offerings were, I transitioned to Lumix, and it was a great choice for me at the time. My first piece of glass that I was really happy with was Sigma's 18-35 zoom coupled with the Metabones adapter. I still like it. I didn't like re-focusing at different zoom levels at all. With the GH5S, I have almost always followed a full manual workflow, so when I added this DZO film manual zoom, there was no adjustment for me. I only saw benefits. The benefits to me are as follows in no particular order: Parfocal-how friXXen awesome is this! No Focus breathing, OMG a life changer! Probably the best part. A beautiful rendition of the color palette. A little softer than the Lumix photo lenses, but in a good way. It makes everything look more cinematographic. If your lighting is solid and your white balance locked in, you are going to get great results. I love how this lens looks, how it doesn't get in my way, and if I do a great job with my lighting, it rewards me greatly. (as always, it all starts with light!). This lens makes my job easier and makes me look good. What else is there to say?

I purchased this lens to take pictures of small items in a photo tent. It is a good lens. I love to focus using manual and it gives me plenty of light to see what I am doing. I have been taking pictures for over 50 years. From a box Brownie to Nikon to medium formatt. I am just comfortable with prime lenses. I am sort of new to Panasonic. I have a Lumix GF1 and a Lumix DMC-G2. I am just learning to use them. I have been shooting in manual settings mode using studio lights pointed to a light box. So far I am very happy with the look and feel of this lens. It is a quality item. If I had a complaint it would be the 45mm filter instead of 52mm. What were they thinking?

This lens replaces my Lumix 20mm H-H020 on my GX-7. The Lumix lens never seemed to have accurate autofocus and sometimes hunted for focus, racking in and out for up to a second. This lens doesn't do that. The focal length is a little bit wider, closer to a 35mm full frame equivalent. The filter/hood treads don't move in and out and don't retract into the barrel of the Lumix, so you can use a cheapo rubber hood safely instead of the pricey Olympus one. Surprisingly, I found the ability to switch between manual and auto focus with the focus ring useful, and it makes me less likely to accidentally leave the lens in manual focus mode. This feature is compatible with the GX-7. Excellent value due to the recent price reduction!

It's very well built and surprisingly easy to focus, no problem with the manual mode. Used with a Lumix gx8

I needed a fast prime to go with the kit zoom that came with my new Lumix GX9, and I liked the way this one looked. With manual-only focus and manual-only aperture selection, this is definitely an old school lens, but that's what I was after. It's not the sharpest tool in my kit, and there is some distortion and chromatic aberration, but it's to be expected in such a small, light, fast lens at this price point. And the bragging rights of having an f/0.95 lens are worth it.

I've been a Canon and Lumix owner to date but was intrigued by this little workhorse. Exceptional build quality, rock solid and very intuitive. I estimate that I figured out 95+ percent of the menu system without the manual, so kudos to the team for a logical UI and UX. Image quality is amazing and frankly I don't find the heat buildup an issue as other reviews have addressed (I have not truly experimented with its video capabilities). The size and weight make this camera a great big pocket option and it's been with me daily over the holidays. I did add a Really Right Stuff L-plate and grip for added protection and the way I like to shoot. I would add the NiSi UHD UV Filter for Select FUJIFILM X100 Series Cameras from the outset to provide lens and weather protection. It's a nice visual complement as well. Controls are logically positioned and the manual ISO dial is a pleasure to use. I will likely not use many of the built-in image manipulation features as I shoot RAW and prefer other tools, but having them and an intuitive app that enables easy transfer to a mobile device is pretty slick. For a go-to, everyday companion, this one is hard to beat. As I said, I'm a Canon and Lumix fan for different reasons, but my eyes wandered and I like what I see, both in my hand and on the screen.
