M 2 Heatsink Asus

I have installed it on my Asus gaming laptop for game storage as a second M.2 and it is really fast and even without heatsink, it doesn't get hot. I am considering now to buy a second one with 2TB for game storage and makes the 1TB version the primary one for the OS, as it is faster than the pre installed Samsung ssd.

The ASUS Hyper m.2 Card is the best M.2 card on the market. Slots to add up to 4(four) M.2 SSDs to your computer. Hyper m.2 card comes in well-built sleek looking card with a built-in cooling fan for the SSD's. What more could you want?

Fast shipping from B&H. Thank you. :) This motherboard was easy to install and was up and running paired up with a Ryzen 3900x. Pcie NVME M.2 detected and working in M.2 slot 1. CPU detected and works at rated speed of 3.8Ghz(was later overclocked to 4.3Ghz). Bios is a treat to work with so many great options. The frozr fan only spins up when you first start the computer. The x570 chipset is ice cold with the heatsink fan combo. The fan hardly runs even during gaming due to the fact that the heatsink on it does an excellent job of keeping it cool. The heatsink on the vrms do an excellent job of cooling and thus I only put a waterblock on the cpu. Everything runs great inside my Coolermaster HFX Lan Evo case. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Samsung 2TB 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD with Heatsink Windows 11 I've installed this in an ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero (Wi-Fi) Z390 Gaming Motherboard as the system drive. It runs 10 to 15 degrees C. cooler than the Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 SSD that it replaced because of bad block and LBA errors. The drive installed and functions great. You can't use the Asus motherboard heatsink with this, so the screw will be too long. I punched the small silver insert out of the old heatsink and used it over the screw as a spacer and tightened gently. Samsung Magician initially didn't fully function with this drive, but after 3 or 4 updates one after the other, (Version 7.0.1.630) the drive is fully recognized.

I ordered this heatsink alongside a high performance SSD, and due to conflicting information online regarding the importance of cooling an M.2 SSD, I decided to buy this just in case. It turns out that SSD performance is actually something that can be capped by mobo and processor lanes, and even with a pretty strong build, it can still end up capped. In this way, my SSD never ended up rising beyond 52 degrees, situated directly under the GPU, and moving an entire terabyte of storage from another device. Were I to play with a stress testing software on this SSD (not recommended due to limited write lifespan) it might be possible to raise the temperature higher, but for an ordinary desktop build that isn't writing all that much, this isn't necessary at all. HOWEVER. It has an amazing design and looks really cool inside the chassis. For aesthetic value alone, I'm thrilled with it. Easy install as well, and I feel safer handling the M.2 chip wrapped in the heatsink over handling it bare.

i purchased this device strictly for the speed of the device and for the most part the unit hits the advertised speed. unfortunately, the difference between my old pci-e 4.0 m.2 (5000 mb/s) drive and this new pci-e 4.0 m.2 (6900 mb/s) drive was not enough to physically feel much difference. i was worried about heat so i installed an external heatsink on the device prior to installation. the heatsink keeps the device at or below 60c so i am please with the temps. the device does have a heat spreader built into the label but since i used an external heatsink i do not know how effective the heat spreader is at controlling the temperature. overall if you want bragging rights this drive is for you.

This was an inexpensive adapter and I had some reservations about ordering but eventually did. My only complaint was the way to remove the heatsink to add the m.2 drive was not intuitive and the pictorial instruction sheet was mostly useless. However, I did figure it out (why are motherboard and adapter manufacturers still using those tiny screws instead of the tool-less m.2 latch mechanisms). My Ryzen system immediately picked up the drive attached to the adapter The adapter and I was in business. The adapter and heatsink are both well-built and provide an easy way to add additional M.2 drives to your existing system.

the first samsung m.2 i bought i used the heatsink gigabyte suppied with their motherboard - it ran 10 degrees hotter with than without! i've never used a heatsink since and i run games and editing software so they're ran pretty hard.

4x m.2 NVMe's all running on the provided heatsink panel makes for optimal speeds at all times.

Another excellent product from Asus. Plays everything I have thrown at it. Has performed without issues. Only thing is that the 2TB for the drives are raided together so that there is not a free m.2 drive slot to upgrade. I went the external m.2 2TB drive route and it working well as a game drive. I upgraded the RAM to 64 MB so hoping to keep this beast for a while. Upgraded from a Zephyrus M16 4070 and really notice the difference. My 6th Asus Laptop and I intend to keep up the tradition.
